Comfortable small rooms, can be noisy. Great location for skiing Tignes/Val. You can ski in/out from across the road = 30 metres.
Plumbing a bit unreliable causing jumps out of the shower when temp changes suddenly.
Ski room with own locker and boot driers is very nice.
The steam room, jacuzzi, sauna are OK but it isn't what you would call a spa.
We stayed on half board and if I were to stay again, I'd go for B+B. Dinner is alright but some stuff was really not much good and the formula gets pretty wearing by day 4.

Travelled 31 December 2011 from Geneva Airport. Due to traffic problems we arrived at the hotel at 10.15 pm. They still served us dinner through midnight and into the new year.

Room (8) contained twin beds, shower with WC and a TV (French channels only though other party members had some English speaking channels on their TV). Room was very warm which was great as it was -3 outside.

We were half board. breakfast was continental: cereal, jams. bread, cold meat, cheese, boiled eggs, etc, plentiful and filling. Dinners was from a fixed menu but, with an option from two chooses per course. Food was excellent and plentiful.

Service was good and the reception were extremely helpful assisting with purchase of ski passes and parking passes for hired cars (Parking Le Lac 3 is closest to the hotel.

there is a sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi in the basement which is open between 4 pm and 8 pm. Each is big enough to take four persons comfortably or six at a squeeze.

After a 50 meter walk from the hotel you are on the slopes and can ski a few hundred meters to the ski tows or lift.

Hugo (the Yeti dog) just lies around and appears harmless, but don't put your hand down to him or he shows his teeth.

Room Tip: Rooms in the basement 5, 6, 7, & 8 are on the same floor as the ski lockers. This means that you...

We are a family of 5. The hotel suited as very well. The staff went out of their way to accomodate us and left us with a very homely feel. The hotel owners are also x skiing champions and know what a skier expext from a holiday. The slopes in Tignes are very easy to get to with a 35m walk to the closest slope. Aeroski, Paqui and Pallafour are a few of the lifts very close to the hotel. For those that wish to go to Val claret, the bus will pick you up within 30 m from the ski locker room. The ski lockers are heated and very skier friendly. Becareful not to be over-fed. The hotel does not skimp on food and good advice is to decide upfront to eat moderately. The lounge/ bar area is a very good place to enjoy apres ski.

Good points are its very close proximity to the slopes, central to the town and has its own ski lockers for all guests

Bad points are the rooms have no sound proofing at all, you can here everything. Ear plugs were needed. If you have half board the set menu IS NOT NEGOTIABLE you get whats on the menu. We asked for a change as seafood and veal are not favourites of my wife, the waiter couldn't have looked more appalled if we'd farted on his fromage. Chips and salad was the best we could get unless we paid for the a la carte menu which was not acceptable as we had paid half board. The menu reads excellent and of fine dining quality but the delivery is very very average

At times you felt like you were in the familys front room which started to feel uncomfortable at times.

Wouldn't use the hotel again but Tigne is fab for skiing, would definitely go again!

I've stayed here several times now and find Le Paquis to be reliable in quality and service. It's recent make-over makes it an even more attractive place to visit. It's in a relatively quiet location, not quite ski in/out, but not far off. You can get to the main lifts and Tignes buses really easily following a short 50 m walk. Le Paquis is family-run and your experience is thus well controlled. The staff for our past stays have been excellent. Rooms are a little small (aren't they all) but there's a convivial bar area with wood fire for relaxing pre and post dinner drinks. Food is fine - not outstanding but great for the price. I'd probably give 4.5 stars if that were possible, but you'd have to pay a lot more to get that extra 0.5 star

I stayed here with my husband, my father and his girlfriend in January 2010. On arrival we were pleasantly surprised with a warm welcome, clean, newly refurbished hotel.

Rooms were warm and cosy with a pretty savoyard feel with both wood and fabrics. Fantastic view of Tignes and the lake from the room / balcony. Bathroom was clean, functional and nice and warm! As someone else mentioned, no shower screen/shower holder on the wall, however, my father's bathroom had been refurbed and had both so we put it down to work in progress, Either way, it was no real problem as after a hard day on the slopes a hot bath does the trick!

The hotel is run by mother (grandmother) and daughter, very helpful and friendly staff, we really enjoyed staying in a french run hotel and undoubtably this has an influence on the very high standard of food - don't expect a British menu! Breakfast: stewed fruits, yoghurt, cereal, cold meat, cheeses, boiled eggs, pain aux chocolate/crossiants etc. Coffee, tea, herbal teas, hot chocolate. Evening meals were 5 course and a fantastic variety of creative dishes served during the week, every night was a delightful surprise and by the end of the week we felt very over fed! Every night there was soup, starter, main, cheese & dessert.

The bar area and seating areas were comfortable and different places to sit / watch tv. Each evening delicious home made 'kettle crisps' and olives were served while you enjoy your aperif. Next time we would watch our bar bill as we were not sure we could account for all the drinks on the final bill - maybe we were just enjoying ourselves too much?!! Hotel staff were very friendly and made a real effort to commuincate and please. If you ask for anything they are happy to accomodate requests.

Location is great, only a few minutes walk to the centre of Tignes. View from the restaurant is knock out over the slopes both during the day and at night. Very handy with toilets in the boot room, for those that may need a pit stop before heading out on the cold slopes for the day!

We would definately stay here again.

Can't say anything bad about this place. Friendly and accomodating. Family owned and operated. Staff didn't speak hardly any English but my wife speaks French so we managed quite well.
Breakfast was the typical pre-ski breakfast - ham, cheeses, cereals, yoghurt and boiled eggs. Dinners were fantastic, actually too much. Five courses 6 of 7 nights with one night being fondue.
Rooms were quaint. Beds are typical European twins pushed together.
Hotel provided card for garage parking at a fee of 75 Euros per week.
Piste is just about 30 meters out the door of the ski room. Ski room, like the rest of the hotel, has been recently renovated and was very accomodating. Will definitely make this my place to stay when going back to Tignes.
Don't forget to pet the rastafarian sheepdog!
