We stayed with 8 people in 2 6-person apartments for 1 week. Strangely 1 apartment was way bigger than the other, the smaller apartment had no room for a door in front of the second bedroom, only a curtain. The bigger apartment even had 2 bathrooms, so there was quite some difference. The beds were good, maybe a bit short, but we are Dutch... Kitchen equipped with dishwasher and other necessities. Ski-lockers available in the basement for each apartment.
The reception of the staff was friendly and very helpful. The inventory was restocked when we showed what was missing. Swimming pool and other spa facilities were not in the complex, but a 5 minute walk to Hotel Val d'Ecrin and free! Those facilities also nice and clean, but only opened in the morning and late afternoon / evening (16.00-20.00)
Location is super, in front of the big parking, ski-in and ski-out option from the back, close to a supermarket and the ski-lifts

The poor thing was that we got only 2 wifi-passwords per appartment... Come on, it is 2014 people!

Hi,

Thank you for this nice comment about our CGH residence la Ferme du Val Claret. I appreciate you enjoyed your stay with us. For the WIFI... come on, yes we'are in 2014, but we are too in mountains, far away from towns, at 2100m high... not so easy as you can imagine I suppose :-)

I hope to see you soon in Tignes

This is are first time skiing here, it's Christmas week, not too busy, it is a very international resort, and everyone is very friendly and helpful, not our normal experience of French resorts, we will definitely be back The Apartment is of a high quality, very clean, and we have one that sleeps 8, its on 2 floors, so very spacious with bathroom facilities for all, the kids love it, The staff have been very helpful and friendly, and there are plenty of options for food delivery, self catering or a private chef. I think the building is situated in a good position, between the 2 levels of val claret, everything you need is very close by.

Room Tip: The room on the top floor has a sloped roof, so the ceilings are very low over the beds, my daughte...

The apartment was well equipped and well located about 5 mins walk from the ski lifts.

The rooms are small - wide angle lenses in the photos tend to give a misleading impression of size.

Shops for provisions are less than 100m from the front door.

Reception is seldom manned and if you arrive at the wrong time getting your room key is difficult.

Overall a nice warm inviting place to return to after a tiring days skiing.

Typical offering from operator CGH – upscale apartments, very well equipped and decorated, well maintained and thoroughly cleaned. Efficient and friendly multi-lingual staff handled check-in well – arriving on a quiet late season Saturday we were telephoned by 11:45 to say the flat was ready. There is limited pre-bookable underground car parking.

The ski room is heated with some seating for booting up. And CGH always seem to get right something too many apartment providers get wrong these days – in the accommodation there are lots of hooks to hang up wet ski gear and plenty of cupboards and shelves to store your kit.

Front facing apartments may be best but a top floor side facing apartment in Chalet Adret (A11) had a reasonable balcony view (see picture) and during our visit we didn’t encounter any noise problems reported by some other reviewers. Huge skylights in the living and bedroom ceilings gave further views of the slalom area and Tichot lift. The sloping roof of this particular apartment limited usable space, but it was ample for three adults. However playing ‘Duck Or Grouse’ gets wearing after a week.

The clincher is the location – within 200m are chairlifts to either side of the valley plus the funicular for the Grande Motte glacier area. The main shopping is on the upper village level (public lift access) but the next block houses a mini-mart, ski rental outlets and various bars and cafes. The apartment building is in the flat lower part of town, so the short walk to the white stuff with ski kit is not a problem. Alternatively steps to the rear lead directly onto the liaison run which passes through town giving ski-in/ski-out potential.

Niggles? A few small glitches with the apartment were immediately sorted by an amiable handyman. Spa lovers should note that the pool and spa facilities are in a nearby hotel (5 mins walk) rather than in-house. And completing the inventory should be taken seriously – we found a few end-of-season breakages hadn’t been replaced.

In summary – quality premium accommodation from a reliable operator with good local staff and very conveniently located.

Room Tip: Front facing rooms have best views

These apartments are not cheap. But they are spotlessly clean, reasonably spacious, well-maintained and equipped, and in a perfect location - ski gear shops and a small supermarket within a few metres; the elevator up to the main street level of the village just round the corner, and the Fresses, Bollin and Tichot chairlifts within about two minutes. In fact, you can walk up a staircase from the deck on the first floor level where the ski lockers and changing room are straight on to the piste that leads down to Bollin and Fresse.

I would not advise having six people sleep in one of the two bedroom apartments, and it is odd that the apartment had only one lavatory, but two bath/shower rooms. But there is also a fresh bread and patisserie service in the mornings, and free access to the excellent spa, pool and fitness centre at the Ecrin hotel up the road. There is a parking garage too. If they are not too busy you can get a late checkout and ski on your last day, then return to shower and change, so long as you leave by 6 pm. A big plus. As for Val Claret: it is impossible to beat. It has every standard of skiing from nursery slopes to exciting and demanding off-piste, in huge abundance. Personally I would much rather stay there than Val d'Isere. It is bang in the middle of the Espace Killy, instead of off to the side, and much cheaper. There are some good restaurants, too.

Room Tip: Ask for an apartment on the side that faces the Tichot lift and the mountains. Very scenic.

We stayed an apartment on the 4th floor of the B chalet, facing the slopes.

The apartments are in a good location, a few minutes walk from the funicular. The centre of Val Claret is 5-10 minutes walk but there are a number of ski hire shops, bars/restaurants and a supermarket next to the apartments. Ski in/ ski out and a short walk from the boot room.

We drove and you can pre book covered parking for 60 euro a week.

Our apartment was of traditional style, well equipped and worked well for a family of three (2 bedrooms). I would echo what other posters say about size - our apartment technically slept 6 people but it that would have been a tight squeeze. We didn't have any problems with noise (apartment was slope facing, on a high floor). There was a big balcony which got the sun in the morning.

The bread ordering service was very efficient - order the night before and can be collected from reception the next morning. We also had good take away sushi from Satsuki. Le Dahu pizza and The Auberge du 3 oursons were both great for lunch.

We had our 10 month old baby with us and used the Crystal Pepi Penguin Club creche at the Hotel Diva which is next door to the apartment block. Childcare was of a high standard and our daughter seemed happy. We would definitely use again and recommend.

Room Tip: Chalet B, high floor, slope facing.
