Didn't met up to expectations I'm afraid. Booked a table and arrived to a quiet restaurant to find then service fine, if a little cold. It did fill up slowly but the food took 35-40 mins to arrive. We weren't in a rush so it wasn't a problem, just couldn't figure out what took the time. The steaks were large but very fatty and not the best. Overall a disappointing effort from a nice looking small restaurant. We visit VT regularly and get the feeling that many restaurants don't feel they have to make an effort. There's a lot of self catering so many they don't but La Chaumiere won't be getting another visit, there's too much choice elsewhere.

Able to get a table without booking, although the place soon filled up. The Tartiflette was delicious, a balance of flavours and piping hot. Service was fine, reasonably priced for the experience.

If you're looking for very good local specialties and a hearty meal, La Chaumiere is the place to choose.
I had a pierrade: the meat was excellent and copious. Others had fondue (go for the one with cepes) and raclette and all 8 of us were more than satisfied.

Perfect place for a hearty dinner after a great skiing day. Everything we tried was good, especially their salmon racklet which we liked much better than traditional one which goes with a plate of ham. Great deserts too. Totally recommended!
