Rented an apartment in this building through flipkey, turned out to be a great flat. Well equipped, nice hot showers and warn room, with view of mountains. Building connects to piste so completely ski in ski out. Ski hire shop in building downstairs and plenty of places to buy food / go out withing 5 min walk. Only complaint was the hallways - a slightly funny smell!

Small and basic accomodation, however perfectly adequate for a group of friends on a first snowboarding holiday! Warm, clean and a kitchenette stocked with dishwasher, hot plate, microwave, utensils, plates and cutlery. It can be really cramped when there are 5 people in the room, but this is reflected in how cheap it is - especially split 5 ways!! It is basically a nice hostel with private bathroom. Didn't see much in the way of staff, but you get what you pay for, so not unexpected.

We were on the ground floor, so I cannot comment on the lifts, but we had a LOVELY balcony, that looked out towards the mountains. It's also only 30 seconds walk from the coach station and sports centre which is covered and leads straight into the main town centre - bars, restaurants, etc. Another big plus, it is only about 50 metres from snow (the end of a blue run) which leads down to the main skiing area - chairlift area, green runs, etc!!!!!

We went over Easter so there was a HUGE student trip at the same time, but to be honest this wasn't really an issue - occasional bit of noise at night, but nothing you would not expect. If I went again I would stay somewhere a bit more romantic with just my girlfriend, but that is personal preference as I like peace and quiet, rather than any slight on the accomodation!

Room Tip: Ground floor corridor, directly past the recpetion on your left, seems the quietest area!

After reading on here I was dreading going there but to be honest I didnt have any such complaints, its a two star hotel I wasnt expected to be fed strawberrys and chocolate every morning by the maid. you get what you pay for, the staff are very friendly. Noise was not an issue, no problems staying there at all and easy access to the piste.

Four of us got a last minute deal to Val Thorens and stayed at L`Atineige. We also had trouble with the lifts on one occasion so we went down the fire escape stairs only to find that it was blocked by snow and ice at the exit, so we had to come all the way up and go down the other exit which was ok this was a little concerning and we pointed it out to the rep. The location is great, ski in and out but be aware of the time you leave it is like the M25, it seemed that everyone descended to the lifts at the same time. We had noise two or three nights during our stay and had to talk to the people ourselves to get it resolved, not a great experience at three in the morning. I agree that its a little shabby and not as clean as it could be and the bath was halfsize so no long soak after a long day. we had a room for five but only four of us stayed with not enough room to put your clothing. The ski locker was not big enough for our equipment so had to take some up to the room and leave on the balcony. It sounds bad but it was just enough for us and we did only eat and sleep in the room so as i said small but functional and i would stay there again for the right price.

Room Tip: rooms on the third floor have a walk over bridge that leads straight to the shops bars etc no need t...

The room for 5 people was tiny!

Luckily we hardly spent longer than a couple hours eating dinner, sleeping and eating breakfast. As you are made to clean the place by yourself, most dishes were dirty this could have been because our dishwasher was broken. Our coffee pot was missing as well.

The staff were efficient with our problems like one of the doors being broken. However the bath leaked when we used the shower, which made a huge puddle in proportion to the size of the room.

The location is great, near club Malaysia, baromix and Carrefour supermarket. You can also climb up (when there's meters of snow) onto the slopes from the locker room.

It's a cheap hotel, not cheap and cheerful. It's a shame the staff do not put any kind of extra effort to make the rooms less grim but you get what you paid for. Cheap for a reason and not a positive one.

It's a really cheap residence with a lot of young people. Don't expect something fancy! The room was very small. We were on holiday as a couple but we booked an app for 5 persons and it was very small! It was dirty and old. The bathroom was very small and the shower was very low. The location was very good, close to the town and shops.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the upper floor!

Stayed at L`Atineige March 2011 - on the third floor positioned right next to the exit/entrance door out to the central area of the town/slopes, which is great for getting out on to the slopes but in the evening the hotell staff disappear and the noise starts at 8.00 and continus until the 4.00 when the last of the drunks return from the bars. The accomodation i can only describe as hostel like - not dirty but also not clean...! the main problem is the noise - the corridors are hard surfaced and echo every sound, doors slamming, shouting, sing etc. If you have a choice of another place to stay ... my advice would be take it.
