“Noisy”
Reviewed 25 February 2014

Woken every night between 12-4am by returning guests screaming, shouting, banging on doors and ringing all door bells. Not welcome when you have children with you!
Rooms clean but very worn with poor cooking facilities and insufficient crockery and utensils. Location great though.

Very surprised at the level of negativity about these residences. They're among the cheapest in VT, are well organised, comfortable and very convenient for the ski classes and piste. Our biggest concern before we arrived was that there would be a lot of noise, and there certainly were a lot of students around, but we were located among families in Nazca floor F, and found it very quiet. The only noise that disturbed us came from piste bashers at 7am - but that's what you get for being right on the slopes! We went for the half board option, with breakfast and dinner at La Grange restaurant downstairs. Excellent food and our kids loved the Savoy specialities provided every night. Tres bien.

This was the second time a stayed in this appartement and I have to say that it has improved a lot since 2 years ago. The appartement was clean and relatively new. In this pricerange it is one of the better ones available in val thorens. It was clean and really close to the slopes. The negative aspects where that the apartments are really noisy and that it is relatively far from the city's center. In the lowest pricerange I would recommend this.

After reading some reviews I arrived expecting what had been described as a 'hotel from hell'. What we found was, surprise surprise, a budget hotel in a fantastic location that is truly representative of the price range.

Provided your standards are anything below the apex of luxury, you'll find this hotel perfectly adequate and in no way detracting from what you're there to do in the first place - ski!

As the cheapest on the Crystal website we booked these apartments for a week in January, there are no frills to the hotel and the apartments are small and basic but the location is great for skiing and ski school and we felt we got our money's worth!

The restaurant attached if you select 'evening meal only or half board' is definitely worth the extra cost! I would find it hard to cook with the self catering facilities!

I would go back as a group again but not if I was expecting luxury!

The Temples du Soleil are perfect if you are looking for basic self-catering accommodation in Val Thorens that is as close to the main lifts as you can possibly get. The rooms and general interior are really quite basic, but were nevertheless clean and well kept. The apartment we stayed in contained two single sofa beds and a bunk bed, which isn't ideal for couples but after some quick furniture re-arranging to turn the two sofas into a double bed the room was quite cosy. With all of our ski gear though, you certainly wouldn't have wanted to try and fit the maximum of four people into the room. The kitchen area was small but did the trick, and the bathroom was absolutely fine. The real advantage of this hotel is the proximity to the pistes - on two of the four sides you walk out directly onto the slopes opposite the main lifts, meaning both starting and finishing the day involves literally just walking out the door from the ski-locker room. Overall the Temples du Soleil is an ideal solution if you're looking for great value accommodation right in the heart of the resort, and aren't too fussed about a plush apartment and just want somewhere comfy to eat and sleep.

Before coming here I read the reviews and was prepared to be disappointed, actually the temples du soleil is just what it claims to be, an average alpine ski apartment. Don't come here expecting luxury, it is old, tired and a bit shabby, but if what is important is getting on the slopes quickly and easily then it's perfect.
