Very good hotel for access to the slopes, Carrefour is around a corner, so are ski shops and bars/restaurants in VT. Staff were great, very friendly and helpful. Food was great too, a four course meal every evening including a fondue one night. The only negative thing was the lack of internet in the rooms and even in the common area it was very flaky, hence everyone congregating around one sofa area. This could've been easily fixed with powerline adaptors and stronger wifi signal.

Room Tip: slope facing rooms are also facing ski lifts

Spent a week at Val Chaviere in March 2014. It is in an excellent location, ski in/ out, close to shops and within short walking distance to bars. The food was excellent, well presented by friendly and professional staff.

The rooms were a little small, however they offered adequate accommodation as we spent most of the time on the slopes. They were very clean and the room was made up on a daily basis.

The hotel lobby/bar offered a warm friendly environment to relax in the evening. The wine list offered with evening meal was very reasonable with a nice bottle costing around 18 euro's, bar prices were also reasonable for such a popular resort.

As already mentioned by several other reviewers, the staff were great, very friendly, nothing was to much of a problem. The hotel receptionist arranged our paragliding session, which is something I would highly recommend at 70 euros a go.

Already planning my return visit for next.

Au revoir

Lovely hotel, great position on the slopes. The people are friendly, the food is great (dinner was local fair and well made, with a fondue night. Breakfast was continental and plentiful) and the bar relaxing. This was our second time there and we hope to go back next year.

Stayed there in March 2014 for a skiing trip. Fantastic ski in , ski out location.
Room was a bit small but great view with balcony over pistes.
Nice Buffett breakfast, meats, cheese, eggs, etc.
Dinner, only one option offered but staff happy to change if not suitable
Wi fi only in reception.
Hotels "grows on you" particularly due to the attitude of the staff who can't do enough to help.
Would stay there again without question.

Room Tip: Facing piste, high up

Really enjoyed our recent stay (February 14) in the hotel. Very clean and cosy with friendly and helpful staff. Food was tasty and well presented. Different menu every night and wine list was very well priced- not your typical overpriced selection. Located right onto main slope that divides VT allowing ski-in ski-out access. Meal provided on arrival night even though it was 11 p.m. and full breakfast buffet provided from 3 a.m. on departure day. We will definitely return here many times as the hotel offers the ideal ski week location and package at a very affordable price.

Ideal if you're planning a ski-trip, very much a "ski-in, ski-out " sort of place. Good for serious skiers, meaning that other resorts are likely to be better for beginners. Love the ski-room & the quiet location is brilliant for skiing. The only minor complaint from my teenage son, was that the evening meal could have been heavier on meat & carbohydrates. I would have loved the hotel more if it had tea-making facilities (sorry but I'm British & we need our tea!). If you staying in VT, we found a trip to the spa in the Caron a good thing after skiing. Quite pricey at €15 each, but lovely sauna, steam room, and spa pool.

Just spent a fabulous week at Val Thoren in Chalet Val Chaviere. Location absolutely amazing, ski in and out, directly on slopes. Ski area fantastic for all abilities. Rooms basic but clean and comfortable. Food excellent. Would have liked to be able to get a cup of tea on waking up but other than that all perfect.
