“Friendly staff, great food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 December 2011

From start to finish, the hotel staff went out of their way to ensure we had an enjoyable stay. After a three-hour flight delay we arrived too 15 minutes after dinner finished on the Saturday night, but Elise, the ever-friendly and helpful receptionist, told us that if we wished, we could take our bags to our rooms, and the restaurant would stay open for us. The food was great - with 3 courses plus cheese each night. Main course each night is a choice of a meat dish, fish, or pasta. Not a huge choice, but when the quality is this high you don't need a lot of choice. The restaurant staff were excellent, particularly our waitress, with whom we built a great rapport, as she encouraged us to practice our french with her. On the final morning we had to leave at 5am, so we were surprised to be offered orange juice and coffee at our bedroom door. The hotel is thoughtfully accessorised throughout with ski memorabilia, the rooms are perfectly adequate. If you choose the right paths and slopes, its virtually ski in, ski out. But what stands this hotel apart is the quality of the food and the friendliness of the welcome. If we ever return to Val Thorens, this is the only place we would want to stay.

This was our second visit to Val Thorens & Hotel des 3 Vallees. We had a great week, starting each day with a sturdy "skiing-breakfast" and finalising it with a nice three course dinner.
Very helpful staff providing good service makes any problem solveable!
Thanks a lot - We will most probably be back!

We chose this hotel because of the good reviews online and had high expectations. After some initial confusion about the room we booked (through Crystal who were not helpful in resolving our problem) the hotel sorted everything out to our satisfaction. The hotel itself is well-represented in photos, it really is very cosy and charming but with adequate space for the limited number of rooms. The highlight of staying here is the food, dinner each night was a treat to look forward to, and the waiting staff are lovely (thank you, Aurelien) and took really good care of us. We hope to return next year - the hotel is a gem.

We had an excellent vacation at Hotel des Trois Vallées.
We were with 4 families, and each had a familyroom. In France it's not easy to find rooms like that. The rooms are a bit small, but have enough space to put your things.
The food is very good. Everyday you have a choice between 3 starters, and fish or meat for main course. And you can always ask for something else.
There's wifi everywhere in the hotel, for 15€ a week per room and for several devices!
On the piste the hotel also has Chalet de la Marine. Same staff, good food, and life music!!
We come back next year in this small family hotel with a friendly and motivated team!

A friend and I stayed in the Hotel 3 Vallees at the end of March 2011 for one week's skiing in Val Thorens. We had stayed before and we returning. The hotel's main strength is its location which is excellent, being approximately a 10-minute walk (downhill in the morning) to the slopes and ski-school meeting points. It has good facilities for skis with basement ski lockers and a boot room in the hotel foyer. Also, a very good shopping mall is directly opposite and the English-speaking pubs and bars (if you want those) are 5 minutes round the corner (but not close enough to keep you awake at night). The hotel rooms and its restaurant have a direct view over the slopes and nearby ski lifts. The French staff are very friendly and all speak English. The restaurant and especially the very relaxed bar have a very good ambience. The music played in the bar was varied, up-to-date and interesting. The food is in French style, is of a very high quality and good value as we paid for a week's stay half-board all included, with lift pass. Selection of cheeses after dinner were excellent. Cleaning and general cleanliness were excellent. Although the building is modern, the hotel tries to have an old-world feel with wooden panelling in the rooms and antique items in the public areas. My only criticisms would be that the twin rooms we stayed in on both occasions are on the small side, with a shower rather than a bath available. The small room size however is somewhat offset by the provision of lots of shelves and ledges for storage. Other criticisms would be that there were limited menu choices, two for adults and one for kids, and the wine was slightly on the expensive side (cheapest bottles for €22, most in the €30 to €50 range and upward). Those would be my only criticisms and I would recommend the hotel as one that delivers on its star rating at a price that is very good value overall. Most of the guests when we stayed were adult groups or couples, although there were some families with small children.

Room Tip: Keep a tally of your drinks bill!

First time in Val Thorens, and will not think twice about returning. Rooms are kept very clean, staff are all very friendly and great with kids. Excellent location with good access to the slopes. Breakfast and dinner is included and without doubt excellent quality and variety.
We have one more day left and look forward to returning next year.

Best Regards from Dubai.

Home from home is how we think of Trois Vallees.
From the minute we walk in, often tired and flight weary, Cedric, Julian et al greet us like old friends and look after us with care and lots of good humour until we leave.
Food is always excellent, the bar atmosphere is delightful and the staff are charming and attentive.
Our one week a year ski-ing is made perfect whatever the weather by returning again and again to this hotel in Val Thorens.
As my knees get older I do need to have a room on the first floor - no lift!!
