There is very little to fault with this hotel, we were delighted with it. We stayed here at the beginning of April and stayed in their nearly renovated duplex room (Room 302). The service is excellent, with all staff being trained to a high standard. It is a small hotel, 28 rooms so it has a homely feel rather corporate feel.
The room itself was really fantastic. As you enter the room there is a small sitting room, with a TV. You then go down some narrow winding steps (these would be unsafe for small children!!), which leads to a double bedroom with patio area, bathroom, separate toilet and bedroom with twin beds. The layout is great and rooms are nicely separated from each other. For those with older children or 2 couples travelling together it is great. The room is very quiet and decorated to good standard, although it was not exceptional.
The bar was lovely and cosy and had beautiful view of the mountains. It was not large therefore sometimes it did not have enough seating space. The drinks were all good and the barman was brilliant, really positive, smiley with a "can do" attitude.
The restaurant, is exactly how previous reviewers have said, excellent. The design of the space, with separate booths created a private feel to the dining experience. The only thing is that for children the food was a little too sophisticated therefore it was slightly wasted on them. I would suggest a children's menu or even an early children's tea as they were not able to eat earlier than 7pm.
We loved the spa area too. You had to book it before as they only allowed 5 people max in the spa. This meant that as a family of 4 we had it too ourselves, which was perfect. It had a lovely jacuzzi, which was brilliant at massaging too! A steam room and sauna. All of it was kept clean and tidy and it was the cherry on cake at the end of the day!
The location is fantastic, a few steps then a ski down to the lift or ski school, this is not suitable if you are beginner. If you are beginner I think you have to walk a bit further, so probably not as ideal.
We left the hotel thinking we would be hard pushed to find a hotel for skiing that ticks as many boxes as this one does for the price we payed.
Thank you for providing a fantastic holiday.
