“A splendid evening out”
Reviewed 21 March 2014

An evening split between theatre and food as the "patron" amused the adults with his poker faced threats of washing up if the kids failed to complete their colouring books. Both children and parents alike received plates of fine, local charcuterie (no chicken nuggets and frozen chips for the little ones here!). Home made foie gras with a host of derivatives; a creamy, rich tartiflette, civet de porc (perhaps the least exciting dish of the evening for me but accompanied by the tastiest hand cut chips of my life...), authentic "artisanal" produce full of flavour and local colour. All this washed down with an excellent bottle of Chignin Bergeron and topped off with a diverse selection of desserts. Another highlight: a set of local liqueurs (chartreuse, Genepi...) served as a Savoyarde version of the "trou Norman" twixt main course and dessert. All in all, an original and rich experience. Everything you see is for sale so if you've enjoyed what you've eaten you can take home a few more slices for tomorrow.
