We stayed here after being unable to find a reasonably priced B&B in St Andrews, probably because we left the booking too late. Glad we did because it was a very comfortable room, light and airy with a good sized ensuite. Jim and Jayne were very welcoming and provided a good breakfast.
Pity the pub next door has closed so there is nowhere to eat in Kingsbarns but that is probably a good excuse to drive to Anstruther and have fish and chips sitting on the harbour

Lovely find - very nicely decorated, super clean, good breakfast including fresh fruit salad. Great place to stop if you're doing the Fife Coastal trail between Anstruther and St Andrews. Very friendly reception.

Me and my beloved stayed for 2 nights while visiting Kingsbarns for the Dunhill Links Golf at the end of September, and I can honestly say that we thoroughly enjoyed everything about our stay.Jim and Jayne were excellent hosts and couldn't do enough for us.The breakfasts were top notch, with a varied choice of items expertly cooked by Jim.
The room was large, with an en-suite, and the bed was just perfect for a good nights sleep.
Jim also booked us into the Barns Restaurant, which is across the road from the B&B, and whos food is also excellent.
I would thoroughly recommend this establishment to anybody that is visiting Kingsbarns, as I would be surprised if it could be bettered.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Gold Room, which is at the front of the house, but from what we saw, all the rooms...

We stayed here for 2 nights during our Fife Coastal Path walk, as there were no rooms available at Crail when we were to have stayed there. Because of this, our hosts had to pick us up and drive us about a couple of times if we were to eat without adding several miles each way to our planned walks. They were super accommodating, very pleasant, and also gave us the excellent advice about visiting the Cambo Estates. The room was very nice and the breakfast was yummy! We enjoyed our stay very much; the Mitchells are terrific!

We stayed in the Kingsbarn B&B for just one night but would happily have stayed longer and hope to return again. The couple who ran it were so lovely and helpful and the price very reasonable for the area but the real bonus was the room. It was immaculate, really nicely decorated and so comfortable with an impressive ensuite bathroom. The location was really quiet so we got a great night sleep and the breakfast the next morning was fantastic. If you are a dogowner it's worth noting that they welcome dogs and were actually looking after a guests dog while they went out for dinner when we arrived.
The only problem we had was getting a late dinner. There's a really cosy looking pub/restaurant next door to the B&B but they refused to take our food order at 8.45pm despite their board advertising food was available until 9pm. So we drove the 15 minutes to Anstruther and had a lovely meal but it would have been better to have enjoyed a meal and a few drinks within walking distance of the B&B.

We chose this BnB because we were attending an event at Cambo House less than a mile away, a couple of mins drive or ~15min walk if you know the slight shortcut from Cambo's drive (+5 if you don't). We stayed one night. Its right in Kingsbarns, not far from The Barns (which is a pub as well I guess, from the outside), and on a small T-junction just away from Station Road so you can most easily park down the side road.
The proprietors (Jim and Jayne, Jayne was mostly the one we talked to) offered to help us with our luggage anytime on the way in and out. When we mentioned we were wondering to book a cab (so the driver of us could drink at the event), she said she didn't think there was a local company and they'd be coming from St.Andrews at ~£17 for that short journey. Which seemed crazy, so she offered, if we ended up driving over and leaving our car there and sharing a lift/walking back, to drive us back to pick our car up the next (Sunday) morning. How awesome! They also double checked the room for us when we thought we had left something there. We ended up not needing her help for the car, but thankyou anyway!

Your room security is via a regular key, the room does not lock on closing (there wasn't even a catch on ours, the "Gold" room - they're not numbered) but that's not unusual for small BnB's like this. So you probably want to lock it when in the room for any time. They have two double rooms, and a (I think) twin room.

For the included Breakfast, you choose your time between 7-9am when you arrive and fill out a card with your name/contact and choose what type of eggs you want, and tickboxes for which of haggis, bacon, baked beans, sausages, tomatoes, tea, coffee etc. you would like. Breakfast was good, not the nicest we had on this weekend but tasty enough. Fruit juices and cereal available, no margarine though (didn't bother to ask for alternative milks) - maybe you could ask when you book it.

The room is of respectable size and quality for the price, there's a little traffic noise but the road is usually very quiet - Sunday morning every other week there's a fast-car get together in the village so they come by and back again on their way. Check-out time was 10am (but that's a little flexible if you need an extra half hour or something).

Other things to do nearby? Well St.Andrew's of course for golfing and other things, and Crail is quite close with its harbour, Forth/sea views and locally famous pottery where all sorts of lovely ceramics are made and for sale. Even on a cold and wet day it was worth visiting. Don't expect much nearby (walking distance) in terms of shops or other things to do, Kingsbarns is a small place, but well suited for St.Andrews access, Cambo House, or Crail or nearby on the coast if you have transport.

Lovely owners-very friendly and relaxed. Great breakfast, especially the fresh fruit salad. Tea, coffee and biscuits in the room is a nice touch and also they had a travel hairdryer and iron in each room. Very clean and warm with a good shower. Close to a good beach for a walk. A drive into St Andrews but peaceful location.
