“Tranquil setting”

We stayed in August with our toddler daughter. The gite was very clean and spacious with even a dishwasher which was welcome as who wants to wash up on holiday? Carl and Helen were away when we stayed but we were very well looked after by Kevin and Lisa who were a lovely friendly couple. The gardens were great for our little one (3.5) to run around in while we sat at the table outside and watched. Le Boterff is out of the way in a very quiet setting but close enough to places of interest such as Carnac and Josselin. We would definitely stay again if we visited the area.

“Friendly, relaxing, enjoyable”
Reviewed 18 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

On our arrival the owners greeted us warmly and the care and attention continued throughout our stay. The accommodation is set in the heart of rural Brittany which provided a wonderful, peaceful setting. We spent a lot of time al fresco enjoying the sunny garden. We will definitely be returning.

“Comfortable and well presented accommodation in idyllic Brittany countryside”
Reviewed 20 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

The gite we rented was ideal for us as a centre for following stages of the Tour de France. It was spacious, clean and well equipped in a super rural setting. The owners were very welcoming and always helpful. We would have no hesitation in recommending Le Boterff to family and friends. We hope to book there again in the future.

“A home from home!”
Reviewed 26 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

This is our second visit to Le Boterff, which tells you that we are satisfied customers. Last year we stayed bed-and-breakfast, in the main farmhouse, but, having acquainted ourselves with the area, this time we decided to opt for a gite. We found the beamed barn conversion clean, spacious, and well equipped – a real home from home! It was a lovely surprise to find milk, and a cake waiting for us, along with tea and coffee. (Apparently, these are included, for anyone staying for over three nights) Although there were only two of us, it was clear that, even at its full capacity , there would be plenty of room for everyone. The wooden staircase is possibly a little steep for someone with serious mobility problems, but gave us (fifty-something and not athletic!) no problems at all. There is a radio/CD player, and, if your French is not great, the TV has the main British freeview channels. The free wifi worked well, on my mobile phone. The British owners, Carl, Helen, Kevin and Lisa are marvellous hosts, and, even though there is a small charge, we would suggest that you breakfast, at the farmhouse, at least once, as these guys are a friendly, invaluable source of local knowledge. A short walk from the sleepy town of Saint Mayeux, in the depths of the unspoilt Breton countryside (Deer can sometimes be seen roaming in the adjacent fields), Le Boterff is well placed to drive to either the north or south coast, as well as lovely towns like Dinan and Josselin. It’s so tranquil, though, you might find yourself not wanting to venture far. We’ll be back!

“Just keep going back”
Reviewed 6 May 2015 for a stay in March 2015

We first came across Le Boterff when we stayed in our caravan on the small site with the intention of an overnight stop which lasted 10 days, what a lovely site and we did return with our caravan the year after, the facilities were superb and it was just so quite.
My wife and I then decided why put the caravan on the ferry at a cost when we could rent a Gite, next question where?, there was only one place we really wanted to go Le Boterff knowing that there was 2 Gites there we phoned but found it had new owners Carl, Helen, Lisa and Kevin how frendly they were with helping us to decide which Gite.
After now staying on many occasions with friends and family and having rented both gites, which are both clean and well equiped we would have a hard job to find anything like it and of course Carl, Helen, Lisa and Kevin are now like our second family when we arrive what more could you want when you go on holiday.
On some evenings for a small fee you are invited round the farmhouse for a set meal prepared by the hosts we have been to many with the campers the guests from the gite next door and the bed and breakfast customers always an interesting night of mixed nationality and different languages but always an absolute laugh and such a good evening with the wine flowing a must if you stay at Le Boterff .
The surrounding area, is full of things to do and the markets are always posted up on the notice board by Carl.
If you don't want to travel around but just sit in the garden and read a book, drink wine and watch and listen to the birds then it caters for that as well with a reasonable supermarket to get supplies not to far away .
All I can say is we can't wait to our next stay in May then we might have to book september .
Well done Carl, Helen, Lisa and Kevin

We stayed here whilst catching up with friends in nearby St Brieuc. This is the 2nd time we have stayed at the Boterff. Helen and Carl are very welcoming. It is an ideal location to visit central Brittany.

The gite was warm and the beds were lovely, which was appreciated becuase it was a freezing February outside.

Kitchen has everything you need to cook easily.
