“quite a suprise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 July 2014

The Old Bullring in Pl Espanya. Really neat conversion, the top floor being the biggest suprise. 360degree views around Barcelona. Do it at night for the most impact. The restaurants are keenly priced due to the amount of them. Well worth a look.

“Beautiful and that's no bull”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 June 2014 via mobile

This converted bullring should serve as an example to all those in Spain where the barbaric blood sport still holds sway. Congrats to Catalunya for banning it and turning this ring into a very impressive shopping mall with restaurants on ground floor and shops and cineplex on upper floors. There is slso a terrific wraparound terrace.

“A cool reconversion from fight to shopping”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 May 2014

Looking for a place where to have both fashion stuffs and some local exotic paellas, Las Arenas could suit your desires. Well located in the heart of Barcelona, a few steps from Montjuic, it is a kind of nice place to interact with friends and enjoy spanish brands, Desigual, Mango among others.
But definitely not the largest and the well-furnished shopping mall compared to others mall around Barcelona.

“A Place to Spend An Hour or Two While Awaiting a Train at Sants”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 May 2014

We had an extra two hours before our train left from Sants. This shopping mall is an easy fifteen minute walk from Sants. The observation deck was nice and well worth the 1 euro elevator fee. The shopping mall is like any mall you would see in the United States and is nothing special. However, there is a typical mall "food court" on the lower floor where you can get something to eat if necessary.

“4 stars for the observation deck, 0 stars for the mall”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 May 2014

This mall is located in what was a bullring. They preserved the exterior completely, so it is quite an impressive site from the outside. However, in what I consider a complete travesty, the inside is completely modern, preserves none of the original bullring, and is filled with a bunch of global name brands.

The saving grace is that they put an observation deck on the roof, which you can go to for free. It offers a nice view of Plaza Espanya and the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya.
