What a delightful hotel. I booked for 4 of us and, never having been here before, didn't know what to expect. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and scrupulously clean. The owner couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly, and the food was outstanding. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough.

We enjoyed three meals at Inverkip Hotel during our stay in Inverkip. The food was so good that we returned night after night. I can honestly say that during our 16 days in Scotland that this was the best food we had, and we ate in some very nice venues which were far more expensive. First, the restaurant has a wide selection of options on the menu. I can particularly recommend the Thai Red Curry which was excellent, the King Prawns starter and the Crayfish salad (small portion size). The starters are all very good size and we really enjoyed the small portion dishes that were more than ample for a big appetite. The ingredients were very fresh and the service was excellent. We did not stay at the hotel but this was highly recommended by another guest house owner who eats there regularly. Overall a very positive experience.

Who knew this lovely room was behind the facade of a typical looking west coast seaside hotel? Very trendy and equally friendly. The service is excellent - smiles abound. King Prawns swimming in garlic butter are delectably light ... eat slowly! Steak pie - as already noted: tender and topped with a light and fluffy pastry. The Chef's special of duck breast with a cherry sauce was truly beyond description: tender and well, simply wonderful. But what's with the old school vegetables: steamed beyond taste and served on the side? A big downer. Nice/Sweet fudge tablet served with coffee.

We stayed overnight while touring the region. The owner was helpful and a joy to converse with. The room was good spacious and clean. I was surprised at how good the food was. The smoked salmon was one of the best that I have tasted in the two week trip. My husband had steak pie which was very tasty the meat was tender an fell apart as it should, the lemon sole was overdone for my taste but I am fussy about my fish. The only problem was the portion size, it was much more than we could consume. Breakfast was a hit too.

Room Tip: A lovely oasis

We stayed for 3 nights whilst visiting the area.
Great location for visiting Loch Lomand, Inverary and even Edinburgh.

Our room was large, spotlessly clean.
Breakfast was cooked to order with lovely produce.

We had an evening meal which was delicious. The restaurant was heaving, we hadnt made a booking but the staff kindly fitted us in and we are glad they did. We had a great meal and dessert.

Staff incredibly helpful ...nice drop of local ale.

Room Tip: No. 2 is large, light and airy.

A wonderful place to eat a fine dinner with fresh ingredients and a wide choice of delicious recipes on the menu. The service is always polite and prompt and with a smile, something that is sadly missing in a lot of places. The selection of beers, whilst not huge, is adequate with some tasty specials, in particular "Peter's Well" which is becomming a firm favourite of mine.
I never hesitate to bring my sailing clients here.

This wasn't my first visit to the restaurant at The Inverkip Hotel and it won't be my last. The meal was excellent as usual and the staff friendly and helpful. The portions are large but they will serve half portions, but it is still difficult to choose from the wonderful menu.
