Absolutely loved the visit to Snowshill. Thank goodness for the great British eccentric, and for the National Trust for doing such a great job to preserve and present it all so authentically! I especially enjoyed the Priests house- couldn't quite believe my eyes! Gardens were beautiful at this time of year. Well worth a visit!

“So much of interest”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 July 2014

This has to be one of the best National Trust properties in the whole country! Not only is it set in an amazing part of the Cotswolds and is really picturesque, but it has a collection of such diversity and interest that you could spend absolutely ages here. We've been back several times and always find something we hadn't noticed before. If you're into interesting historical anythings you'll find something related to it here! The house is a little walk from the car park and the cafe but the views are just stunning. Great for kids too - the staff in each room always have an interesting fact or trinket to amuse them (and you!) with.

“Look back in time”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 July 2014

National trust property of guy who saved many times from his era plus made loads of toys etc. an old manor house in a picturesque village stuffed with interesting items. If visiting Cotswold area a not to be missed attraction.
Pub almost next to it in village is small, good food though limited menu but at time of visiting (twice in a week) was excellent fare with happy and friendly service and staff.
Almost directly opposite is an old church with red telephone box very tidy and whole village is a magnet for tourists . Worth visiting though gardens of manor itself are not as special as say Didcot which is a days visit in itself and not that far away.
If planning visiting area add Didcote which is another national trust property to list as a must see. Manor house nowhere near as interesting as Snowshill but grounds are possibly best in uk to see.
Car parking at Snowshill is small but in my the real visits over two years never had any issues parking. .limited spaces in village itself. Pub has own car park but on a slope and smallish but manor has public free car park just hundred yards along as we enter village from one end.

“A Unique Attraction!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2014

How Amazing!!
This wonderful Nation Trust venue, is just unique. The main house is an architectural gem in itself but the collection of artefacts and memorabilia make the visit enthralling. On top of that the cottage that was use for residential purposes is charming, and the garden a treat, complete with the, soon to be refurbished, model port and harbourside village.
The restaurant building close to the car park is in a delightful setting that means a pleasant beginning or end to a special visit to a Cotswold Gem.

“We will need to go back”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2014

Sunday afternoon, sunny and of course the place was very busy, but it did not spoil the attraction too much. We will try to go back during a quieter period to be able to spend a little more time just to be able to look at the items and not feel the breath of someone standing behind waiting to have a look too.
I suppose the lack of of information cards relating to the items is one way of keeping people moving however the staff are very informative and more than happy to help with questions..
The gardens are lovely, peaceful and well maintained. Lovely views of the valley and surrounding hills.Again, on a quiet day it would be even better. Restaurant gardens a little bit noisy with kids playing football and generally running around, but that's ok I suppose and there is a little pay park for them too. A charming place in a charming setting.
