Crescendo's distinctive look and uncompromising design is a testament to architectural genius.
A work of Art, actually, of contemporary ingenuity.
From the Great Room & Master Ensuite, views through 30' of glass open to the ski slope.
No problem finding your way back to Crescendo, even after partying a little too hard at the village.
At night, Crescendo transforms into a luminous architectural masterpiece.
But the daytime view ain't too bad either. Agreed?
Especially here, as viewed from the tunnel (entry to Village), & from Hummingbird & Woodcutter runs.
Boarding back from the Village to take a ... a look at who's already started their Après activities.
Oh, you started without me. Glad I slowed my approach, or I may have joined you all prematurely.
Ahhh ...
More Ahhh ...
Even More Ahhh ... Join us already!
Our SwimGym allows stationary lap swimming, against a current set to a level of your choosing.
Crescendo not only sleeps 22 guests, but our indoor-outdoor Jacuzzi accommodates that many as well.
Grandma and grandkids enjoying Crescendo's Jacuzzi...Especially the indoor portion.
A view of the slopes and our ski-in entry, from inside Crescendo's toasty Pool Room (24 C, 75 F).
Guests enjoy Crescendo year-round. Late Spring to early Fall, in fact, are my favorite periods.
Just take a look at our Outdoor Play areas, where you'll find resort-like comfort.
During the day, move freely between our pool & picnic table areas.
Later, seated around our gas-fired Fire Table, enjoy the sunset ...
... and the extraordinary views. Yes, they exceptional, too, even after the snow has said Goodbye.
Your chef will enjoy the experience with you, as our Grilling Station is just outside the kitchen.
A 38” Napoleon Grill (that’s 42 hamburgers), built into & surrounded by granite-topped bar seating.
When it comes to providing an awesome gourmet experience, we’ve got you covered both inside and out.
Notice the pool's perimeter? That's right, it's geothermally heated to snow-melt temperatures.
Perimeter may not be toasty to the feet, but when sitting outside the pool, your rear won't freeze.
Our Pool Rm's windows are coated with energy saving film. What's reflected looks quite cool, too.
Want to enjoy your friends near the Jacuzzi, but not in the Jacuzzi? Well ...
You'll appreciate, then, the seating we've added to that area: especially after the snow has melted
The entire space around both the Patio and Pool areas have been leveled, tiered, and landscaped.
Transitioning between the two areas is seamless, accommodating seating for more than eighty people.
Whether for an event (e.g., wedding) or for an intimate romantic dinner for two, we're open, always.
Crescendo - the jewel of Big White ...

... be it during the winter.
In our Rec Room (original our Garage), for you Card Sharks, we have a Poker Table that seats six.
Woo hoo! I'm all in!
For you tennis players, we have ... no, we don't have tennis courts. We have a Pro Ping Pong table.
For you Billiards Buffs, we have Bumper Pool. C'mon buddy, it's just a friendly game, right?
The Theatre & Game Room are our flexible bedrooms ...
... meaning that the rooms can easily serve as being both entertainment areas and private bedrooms.
Again? OK, Game Room here, and ...
... then Bedroom here ...
... and here. The moveable glass wall and blinds block-off the room for privacy when needed.
Crescendo’s Media Room is outstanding! A 110” screen, 7.1 surround sound (along with 2 subwoofers).
1200+ movie titles are at your fingertips, literally, selected by scrolling their electronic jackets
The Theatre can convert to a bedroom, with 3 custom Wall Beds: each with it's own custom cabinetry.
By design, every room at Crescendo offers its own unique experience, ...
... but the Great Room has always been Crescendo's focal point.
The views from that room, too, are to die for.
Here, while his parents relax on the couch, Zach gives a check-in signal before taking another run.
By design, our Great Room not only opens to the slope, but to the kitchen and dining areas, as well.
Sure, Crescendo's fireplace is truly stunning, but ...
... the atmosphere it creates is infectious: in the Great Room, in the Dining Room, and ...
... in the Kitchen.
In all, our custom fireplace contributes uniquely to Crescendo's tranquil ambiance.
We next tour the Dining Room, which in the photo you can see to the right of the Kitchen.
This view is taken from the point at where the Great Room, Kitchen, and Dining Room meet.
View of our Dining Room & spiral staircase: 1/2 level down to Theatre, up to ski entry & bedrooms.
Speaking of views, the ones from the Dining Room are majestic.
The views from the Dining Room, in fact, are majestic day and night, regardless of the season.
Between the Dining Room and the Kitchen Island, more than 22 adults can dine together.
Crescendo's Gourmet Kitchen: Viking, SubZero, Miele...nothing but the best.
Our ski-entry hall has two washers and two dryers: both commercial-sized.
Serpentine glass block walls provide just the right amount openness and separation of space.
We get a kick out of the audible gasps from our guests, the first time they see our Guest Bedrooms.
Every room at Crescendo has spectacular views, and the Master Suite is no exception.
Everything about Crescendo is spacious: the Master Ensuite, inclusive.
By itself, in fact, Crescendo's Master Suite IS a private retreat.
Every bedroom has its own private ensuite, but the Master Ensuite is especially sweet.
2 sinks & a 2-person steam-shower. The view from the 2-person jetted tub, though, is breathtaking.
Did I mention that the Master Suite is REALLY sweet!
Yes! I so deserve this!
Bottom's up! If susceptible to vertigo, you might not want to take in this view.
Holidays at Crescendo are wholly magical.
For the holidays, our 12' Christmas Tree adds a festive note to the Great Room's rich ambiance.

“Perfect for a Corporate Retreat”
Reviewed 20 September 2017 for a stay in September 2017

We recently had our annual corporate retreat at the Crescendo at Big White. Although it was a small group of 12 senior executives, the space and location were perfect. The team loved the spot as it was away from distractions and completely self contained with all the needed amenities and upto-date modern technology, which aided in us being able to focus on the purpose of the trip. The media room was a perfect space to hold presentations, with the comfortable theater style seats. We will definitely be back each year.

Thanks Sharon, for the great review. Hosting Corporate Retreats at Crescendo was at the forefront during our design stage. In a previous email you noted that the group “ended up using the media room for presentations,” and that they had shared it “felt like they were at the movies, but watching a presentation.” Exactly our intention.

The snow came very early, too, at Big White this year. I understand that it flurried on two of the days, and that on the last day a dust of snow remained on the ground.

Best!

“"Perfect Getaway, Great Find"”
Reviewed 8 September 2017 for a stay in August 2017

Crescendo is a gorgeous building that stands out from the surrounding homes, and is a complete smart home, in every way. I’ve never seen anything like it.

- How often do we get to stay in a smart home? Very cool experience!
- Crescendo easily accommodated our party, with capacity to spare. The home is well kept and very clean.
- The children and adults loved the pool: really cool indoor/outdoor concept.
- The movie theater and the suite of movies were amazing. It was like an unlimited selection of entertainment.
- The steam shower was an experience!
- The BBQ area and built-in sound system was the perfect private patio experience.
- Also, it was super quiet; it was like we had the whole Village to ourselves. Being from the city, I personally liked that.

Mitch, your service was amazing, and the property managers were a call away and showed up promptly when needed. Crescendo is a pretty cool place, and I recommend staying here.

Heads-up to those visiting in the summer. Crescendo is on a mountain, so the nights can get rather chilly. Great for using Crescendo’s Jacuzzi, but one should be prepared by bringing along more than just merely shorts and t-shirts. Another tip is to gas-up before leaving Kelowna, as there are no gas stations between there and Big White (you’ll need at least 80 kilometers of fuel to get to and from Crescendo).

Thanks Mitch for supplying the location for our memories.

Wow! Thanks MUCH for the thorough (and great) review. So glad that you all got to experience the totality of what goes into making Crescendo all that it is.

One of my favorite areas is definitely the BBQ area you referenced. That’s one of the reasons I actually enjoy being at Crescendo more during the summer than the winter (although the winter is crazily magical).

GREAT suggestions about prepping for a visit, by bringing the right attire as well as by gassing up. I, too, have driven back from Big White on fumes. If it weren't for the fact it was mostly downhill, I doubt I would have made it. I’ll be sure to include both of those points in the info we send in advance to our guests, with regard to preparing for their upcoming stay.

Best!

“Amazing Place”
Reviewed 18 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

Everything from the initial email about booking was fantastic. Mitch looked after our group from start to finish, taking the time to ensure that we had everything we needed. Our group was 11 professional guys, up there in August and it was absolutely incredible. The AC kept the house a nice temperature, and the perfect giant hottub/small pool could be hot or cold. The space in the house was fantastic, and the place is absolutely top notch. There was an local handyman available to fix anything that was needed (we didn't need him). He has been looking after the house for almost 10 years and knows it inside and out.
I've never been on a more comfortable bed, and the sleeping accommodations gave all 11 guys their own beds (plus two small kids beds to spare).
The entire group was absolutely wowed, and felt it was worth every penny.
To sum it up, stunning home, incredibly well equipped with everything, and top notch service from the owner.

Thanks Dr. Cam! So glad, truly, that you all got to experience Crescendo, and that you all found Crescendo to be an "Amazing Place." Glad, too, you all got to experience that over the summer. Believe it or not, the majority of our guests only get to experience Crescendo over the winter during ski season. Summer, though, is my favorite time there. Best! Mitch

The weekend was awesome and the place surpassed all of our expectations. I was very happy with everything, especially the well stocked kitchen. It was an excellent place to celebrate but also relax. Dan was very helpful as well and came by to check on the pool and make sure everything was great. I would not hesitate to recommend crescendo to anybody heading to big white.
Thank you.

“Fabulous!”
Reviewed 21 December 2016 for a stay in November 2016

Staying here was an incredible experience! From the location right in the heart of the mountain, to each and every amazing room, to the views from all the windows, the luxury and detail throughout the home, etc., it really was a special place to stay. The website was very accurate in the description and pictures of this home. I appreciated how clean it was, and ready for our stay. It easily accommodated a large group, but also felt cozy even when most of the group left. I would highly recommend it.

“Great hub for weekend wedding festivities”
Reviewed 17 September 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We stayed at Crescendo for our wedding in August. The mountain has started staying open in the summer months only recently, which means it's basically deserted. The house had everything we needed to host a couple of events. While only a handful of our guests actually stayed at the house, we comfortably hosted nearly 50 people for cocktails and a barbecue. The other guests were all able to find affordable accommodation elsewhere on the mountain - even at the last minute. The house served as a perfect launch point for golf, vineyards, and other activities down in Kelowna. Mitch and his staff were extremely accommodating. "The house is built for fun" was a line we heard a few times. As long as your guests are respectful, they are open to the house being used to its full potential as a great place for celebration and mingling. We had our dinner at the Globe restaurant - which served an incredible meal and is only a few hundred meters away - and then walked back to the house with our guests where a bartender kept everyone happy all night long.

Thanks Lori/Alex for the great review. I love the things you highlighted in your review. Yes, the house was definitely built for fun, and to assist with creating lasting, memorable experiences. It sounds like you all used the house to its full potential, too, which we love to see.

Using Crescendo, too, as a launching point for activities surrounding Kelowna and the Okanagan area, too, is not only inventive and clever, but extremely practical. Where else can 16 or so golfing buddies stay under the same roof. Arrangements with Discover Okanagan Tours (@skiandwine), in fact, can be made to shuttle the entire group to/from Crescendo and Kelowna events.

True, too, that summers at Big White have traditionally been rather tranquil, to say the least. While next summer (2017) will be Big White’s grand opening for mountain biking, I do think Big White will remain a rather tranquil summer resort for some time.

Thanks for taking the time to post a review about us. Thanks, too, for the thoughtful review.

Best!
