Stayed 1st week of July and found the central location to be perfect for PHSD. Staff were very accommodating with requests and an early check out was processed without an pushback even though policy had advised otherwise. Great customer philosophy !! Will be back.

We enjoyed staying here for 2 weeks as part of the Piping Hot Summer Drummer. The room was very comfortable and cozy. Kitchen was well used. Service was great with Russ doing all he could to help us in any way possible. Way to go Russ!! It was a great time away, thanks! :)

Room Tip: Make sure you get a fan for the summer months! Also, try and get a room on the north side in the summer as it does get hot!

We held our annual spring scrapbook crop here - and once again, were not disappointed! We choose different rooms - on the same floor as the restaurant. It was easy to access, kitchens were well equiped for us to make our meals and snacks and lots of crop space (1 large table per person). General Manager Russell Haubrich and his staff made sure we hade everything we needed - and he even checked in with us several times throughout the weekend to ensure we were satisfied. And it was great to enjoy the outdoor hot tub while it was gently snowing - perfect way to soothe our aching muscles. We also enjoyed the small touches - locally made soap in each room with the hotel's signature scent, lots of towels and extra pillows available without having to call down to housekeeping. Thank you again Russ and staff - we are already planning our October scrapbook crop - and it will be at Vance Creek!

Room Tip: We had room 202 - no stairs if you have difficulty with mobility. Great view of the village plus a deck perfect complete with table and chairs - perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or wine and cheese in the evening.

Stayed here for 7 days in Feb 2013. The village is small but has everything you want for a week of skiing. The rooms/apartments are comfortable and much larger than the equivalent that can be found in european resorts.
Weekend buffet breakfast at the Bulldog is well worth it. For lunch/dinner (or supper in Canada). Long John's pub has great food.
One place we would aviod in future is Down Under (beneath The Bulldog) as the barman thought it was normal to serve you the overpriced main course and then finish it off with the antipasta. As you are more or less confined to the resort the prices are higher than in the rest of British Columbia.
If you are limited to peak time skiing then Canada is worth considering as it is not much more than europe at these times and you get wide open slopes with no queing for chairlifts etc.

First time skiing at Silver Star – we had 16 wonderful days accommodated in the most convenient location for the best skiing in a winter wonderland experience.
A family of 3 we stayed in unit 305 – this has a great view & a balcony overlooking the main village square & beautiful sunrise over the valley on the clear days -– we have many beautiful sunrise photos taken from our balcony. It has 2 very comfy queen beds in a separate bedroom with a full bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, lounge area with a fold out sofa bed which our son enjoyed sleeping in (he could watch TV without disturbing us). Every morning the bakery smells from below us wafted through our room, great way to wake up! We loved being able to look out our window and see the ski school directly opposite us and we could see what activity was happening in the main village area.
Easiest ski in, ski out setup with a locker room located downstairs next to the back door – made it so easy to come in for lunch or siesta.
The room is central to the shops, ski school and Bugaboos Bakery is directly downstairs where we indulged in many coffees & pastries – yummy bread here too!
The staff were very friendly, caring and helpful for all our needs – couldn’t ask for better service. When my wife was briefly unwell during our stay the staff could not have been more accommodating and caring.
The snow & skiing were exceptional, with this mountain enabling skiers with varying levels of experience to ski together. Advanced skiers could peel off a blue or green run to a choice of many black runs to meet an intermediate skier at the bottom of the chair lift. We were lucky to experience several fresh powder days during our stay. The skiing was so good we didn’t get to all the other activities I would have liked – cross country skiing I’m told is spectacular here.
The ski school instructors were outstanding- I learnt so much.
Our friends – a family of four had adjoining / connected rooms 204 & 205 downstairs. This had almost direct access to locker & back door for perfect ski in - ski out access. Their rooms were spacious with a king size bed in one bedroom, 2 queen beds in the other, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, lounge, balcony.
Definitely recommend staying in these perfectly located rooms. We are already planning our next visit back here!
