I stayed on a business trip for 2 nights and our greeting at reception set the mood. Friendliest welcome I have received the rooms are quirky and the beds huge, very clean and we'll appointed, the pool looks inviting but I am here for work and now regret not bringing any swimmers!

We stayed here last year and chose the same room again, upstairs at the front opposite reception. I has long verandah with dining table and day bed - really great setup. The king bed has latex cover and is very comfortable. It. is a spacious setup and though old has everything you need for cooking etc. The pool is quite adequate and there are books and DVD's you can borrow. They have free WIFI which is handy. The hosts are very friendly and helpful and the beach is just across the road.

Room Tip: Room 7 is the best!!!

What is not to like? From the email exchange before I arrived to the greeting and great hospitality from Mechelle to the clean, spacious room - I loved it all. It is located directly across the street from the beach and just down the street from restaurants. My room was on the ground level beside the little pool but nice and quiet. With a selection of movies to borrow and on site laundry, I'm sorry that only had one night there. If I am lucky enough to come back to this amazing country, I will be back to this jem!

stayed here for 3 nights and it was wonderful. The apartments have been furnished in a Bali style with a huge king bed. There is everything you need to eat in or out. Restaurants are close by no more than a 5 minute walk. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Across the road from the beach. The only draw back for me was that the chairs in lounge and kitchen were too low as I have a bit of a mobility issue.

Room Tip: very soundproof room we had on the upper floor.

Seeking somewhere at the north end of the Esplanade where we could get a decent swim and with possible sea view we booked Coconut Palms on the web. Right on the Esplanade and only metres from the sea, Coconut Palms appears to be an old two storey holiday flat block that has been renovated with some character. So there was none of that sterile “motel” feel about the place, starting right at reception with the manager who is a mine of local info. Although we had booked a one bedroom, we found ourselves upstairs in a two bedroom. The main bedroom had a massive Bali style timber bed with very comfortable latex? mattress. The second bedroom had two steel single beds. Bathroom revealed the age of the units with big water sprinkling shower over a large deep bath and a separate toilet. The living room was furnished with two comfy settees, a large flat screen TV and DVD. Artwok and other furnishings maintained the Bali theme. The freshly renovated kitchen housed a full stove, huge two door fridge freezer and wooden table large enough to seat about 8 people. There was a new split system a/c directing air across the room and down the passage, towards bedrooms which are not airconditioned. In the main bedroom was an oscillating fan fixed high on the wall. It was fine for us through the night with windows open for breeze and no a/c. All the rooms had large sliding windows and drapes. From the kitchen area you could look across adjoining vacant land to the beach. It was on this land that some parking was provided though we were able to park under. Being upstairs was great as we could open the windows and (outward opening) door to let the sea breeze blast through. It was pretty warm 32C, when we arrived but it cooled pretty quickly when we did this. The one drawback with this low emission approach to cooling was that it also brought in all the smokers’ emissions, whilst they had that evening drag on their verandahs. So we buzzed off to get a feed of fish and chips for dinner. By our return the smokers had vanished and the air was fresh. The only fitting we missed were champagne glasses for our bubbly. It was a quiet night and we enjoyed a restful sleep. Preparing breakfast was easy in the roomy well-equipped kitchen. Throughout we made use of the free wifi that was fast and excellent. Such a rarity in OZ accommodation. Would be a good spot for a longer stay.

Room Tip: Upper level rooms catch breezes and may have a view

We stayed for 3 nights in one bedroom appt. really clean tidy and comfortable, would recommend to anyone. On the Esplanade opposite the beach, great position easy to get to trips. Gated so felt really secure with car and us locked away at night. Michelle so helpful and friendly, will stay here again if we come back.
