We visited on the evening of Friday 16th May. We didn't have a booking but were told to wait 45 minutes to be seated at 7.30pm - despite there appearing to be tables. We waited having heard/read great reviews about the restaurant.
She ordered belly pork - it looked and tasted delicious. I ordered steak (rib eye as the rump had sold out) and asked for it to be cooked rare. It was cooked well done - but because of times I couldn't send it back as we had to be elsewhere soon after.
Other than the mix up with the steak and the waiting time to be seated (the host could have gestured to us that the table we were to be seated at was ready - we could see it vacant for some time before we were seated at it at 7.30pm) the food and brewery ales were superb. There was ample choice of drinks from the microbrewery they have.
I'm not sure if we'll return based on the two negative factors, but if we do and there are no concerns then I'd happily provide a higher rating.
