“An expensive field close to a great area of beaches”
Reviewed 18 April 2014 via mobile

Upside is the proximity to Harlyn and (bigger upside) Constantine and Booby's bay. Being charged for showers which switch off when you covered in soap is insulting given the rates you pay for staying in a field. Also being charged to use swimming pool compares with Trenance. Refused to put on the cricket

Hello every body

Durung the week starting the 9th September, we all ( Four Adults and two grand children, one nearly three and a one year old) went to Harlyn Bay holiday park, we had two caravans next to each other, one with full central heating.

It was not expensive, the caravans did the job adequately, the beach and bay was great, we had a few trip all within 39 minutes and it all went well.

In the evening we eat at 5 o clock in the restraurant, after which we went to the kids 6.30 scramble supervised by Zed, who did a great job,

One day it rained so we went to the on site pool.

Good value for money and great time had by all.

Our thanks to the staff.

Best regards

Room Tip: book a caravan with heating when you have babies with you

We stayed here a few weeks ago and found the location perfect. We stayed in the beach field and it overlooks Harlyn Bay which is beautiful.

The actual site itself is pretty run down and could do with a lot of money spent on it. The shower area is pretty filthy to be honest and the entertainment area isn't much better. The roads, Caravans and paths around the site are all run down.

It didn't spoil our holiday but I don't think I would camp here again. We paid £18 per night which included electric so the price was great but I would pay double that for better facilities.

We went for the first time after recommendation 2 weeks in August, yes the site could do with some TLC but you get what you pay for which is pretty damn good..they totally cater for the kids and the kids entertainment Is excellent. The local beaches are clean and the views are brill my son had one of his best holidays ever definately an annual holiday there from now on much better than my usual haven break

This was well priced for a the school holidays but the site leaves a lot to be desired. The Beach field has no toilets, bins or washing facilities. While we were there it was strewn with litter including a sanitary towel and glass bottles. The facilities are very tired, not particularly clean and insufficient for the numbers of people staying, resulting in frequent queues for toilets and showers in the mornings. Bizarrely, toilet paper dispensers are located outside the toilet block and you have to take in what you need! With toilets being a 5 minute walk, you would be well advised to take a camp toilet if you have one

The showers cost 20p for 3 minutes which is inconvenient as the coin box is outside the cubicle and a bit of a cheek given the poor condition of them.

The entertainment was pretty good and the kids were happy, with staff even joining guests on the beach for sandcastle competitions and crab races on one day.

You can however, forgive the site for some of it's failings given the location. Camping in the Beach field you are only 2 or 3 mins walk from the beach, which is a great beach, reasonably sheltered and felt safe. You are also within walking distance of a Lifeboat station, Lighthouse, a great coastal path and some other nice bays.

Overall the facilities are tired, a bit grubby, insufficient and there seems to be an approach of make do and mend. There are better beach side sites, but for the price and allowing for the location you can see past some of these disappointments.

There is no doubt that this site does have its faults, but we still had a fantastic time regardless. it would hugely benefit from having an extra toilet block somewhere, even if only a portacabin between the main park and beachfeilds, however as we had small children we planned in advance to be as close as possible to the main facilities such as toilets and park. At first the shower set up was a little annoying, but after a day or 2 we adjusted to this and timed it so we didn't need to que, i think the 20p is probably a good thing as there are only 10 showers, if people didn't have to pay they would spend a lot longer in there and the ques would be far longer. 20p is just enough to make people aware of how long they are spending in there without breaking the holiday budget. having said that, a change machine on the wall would be handy!!the restaurant was fantastic, located perfectly to watch children play in the park leaving adults to eat in peace, the carvery was delicious. The entertainment staff were amazing with our children, involving them in everything and even remembering all their names from the 1st night!! a lovely little walk to the beach which was far easier than loading up the car. yes it has it bad points but for every negative i can think of a massive positive and for that reason we will be returning and would highly recommend to anyone with children aged 2 upwards!
