The reviews for Carnevas say it all really - people keep coming year and year. We've been staying here for about 7+ years. We always stay in a chalet (they have 5) and it is always great - each year something new seems to have been updated or improved - proving that the upkeep and customer satisfaction is important.
The site itself is large with space mainly for camping/touring caravans. There are about 8 static caravans and 5 chalets. There are excellent facilities such as shower rooms, laundry, shop, small pub and reception. The owners have always been fantastic - approachable and helpful. One year our fridge gave up and within a couple of hours we had a new one and a bottle of wine to say sorry.
The chalets themselves are 2 bedroomed with shower room, kitchen and sitting/dining area. TV with DVD players are now provided and WiFi is available for a charge. They are always clean and tidy and often fully booked so get in fast.
The location - fantastic. A 5-10 minute walk to Porthcothan beach, also the option for a lovely cliff walk along the coast. There is one pub the Tredrea and a small shop in Porthcothan, petrol station, fish and chip shop and restaurants/pubs are all about 10 minutes drive away. Which leads me to my biggest problem with the location - the roads. They are so narrow that often it appears to be blind luck if you don't hit someone and abandon all hope if you are unlucky enough to meet a bus coming the opposite way. You will be reversing down a country lane. Eek. If you can cope with that it's perfect. Go there now and start visiting for the next 10 years.
