This hotel has lovely views of the surrounding green hills. Our room had a balcony and large windows. The breakfast room was lovely with panoramic views. The location was very peaceful on a quiet street. It is an easy walk to the main street of town for shops and restaurants.

Room Tip: We were on the first floor upstairs and had lovely views. You would not want to be on the ground fl...

Lovely room with an expansive view on the meadows and mountains. Quiet, clean and comfortable. Good breakfast seated along large windows overlooking the countryside. Heidi is very charming and helpful. Walking distance from the thermal bath. Badenweiler is a very charming little town at the edge of the Black Forest with a smattering of good restaurants and tea rooms. Our third visit to this delightful spa town.

Room Tip: Rooms on the first floor. We were in #13.

After 4 weeks travelling around Europe we needed a rest and somewhere to recharge the batteries and Hotel Neuenfels was perfect.
Set among the rolling hills of the Badenweiler country side we knew of the town from my wife's time in Germany when she was younger and I don't think it had changed much at all in the last 30 years. Absolutely beautiful country side, lovely town, friendly people and a wonderful hotel.

We arrived so late we did the courtesy of emailing ahead to say just that and we actually received a reply almost straight away informing us that it was no problem at all. When we did arrive the owner was there to greet us and help us up the narrow staircase to our rooms, gave us a summary of the amenities and breakfast in the morning and left us to crash.

The rooms are approx. cira. 1980's but very homely with tea and coffee available in our room which had a separate room with kitchenette and 2 balconies with fantastic views. Breakfast was wonderful with selection of fruits, pasties, breads and cold meats.

Hosts where fantastic with tips and suggestions on how to spend our next 6 days which we took all on board, with the town so close to the French boarder day trips where no problem and sightseeing in and around the town was excellent.

Must see's are the Roman Bath ruin's and the old castle on the hill (if your up for the climb) : )

I'd recommend staying here to anyone travelling through Europe looking to kick back and relax for a couple of days or a week before continuing the holiday.

We came here with a bit of trepidation after reading a few reviews, expecting a bit of an old-fashioned (and not in a good way) room. SHOCK! We have a HUGE space with a kitchenette, separate living room, two balconies with stunning views, a very comfortable bed in a BIG bedroom, great internet connection, sparkling cleanliness, and TERRIFIC service. I am not sure in what hotel a few previous reviewers spent their holiday in Badenweiler, but there is a disconnect somewhere. NOTHING about this hotel is musty or fusty. It is not Vitra design, but that isn't what one seeks in a spa town like this. We can see three countries from here. The host cannot do enough for guests here. This is a delightful hotel, perfect for a wonderful, restful spa town holiday.

As we only arrived this afternoon, I cannot yet comment on breakfast. But I know in my gut it will be fabulous!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with views and a kitchenette. Room 16, Römerberg, is fabulous!

We booked three rooms for a family stay.
The suite was large, comfortable but a little dated. Very clean.
The other two rooms were smaller but still plenty of room. Both were spotlessly clean but one room was slightly "fusty".
Breakfast was excellent buffet with ham, cheeses, rolls, juices, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, tea and coffee.
Hosts were lovely.
Would stay again.

Stayed here with a colleague on a business trip for a few days, which suited us fine as we were hardly there but for a vacation, depending on what you're looking for or the purpose of the trip, it may not be for everyone...

The hotel is owned by a very friendly husband and wife team who both staff the hotel and serve guests breakfast in the morning (breakfast consisted of good hot and cold options, with the room having great views of the surrounding mountains and areas). The rooms all seem to be of good size too and comfortable enough, but very basic and quite outdated - reminded us a lot of of what old people's homes look like!

The area itself is also like this too, with both the owners and taxi drivers local to the area admitting that the location is one where retired couples and mature people come to live. Within the shopping precincts and streets in town, that's all we saw! Very very quiet, calm with just a few basic shops around.

Located about 25mins from the nearest train station (by bus) or approx. 15mins by car, to get you into town or neighbouring Switzerland.

Overall, a comfortable stay.
