Some miles out of the town of Konstanz, this hotel is accessible by car, bike or bus (avoid rush-hours if travelling with suitcases).
Not quite the 3-4 star hotel our travel agent had led us to expect, it is a quirky place with Hawaiian and other themed decor. It was run entirely by young people, individually pleasant, but the whole impression was that it was somewhat haphazard, with no sense that anyone was really in charge.
Our rooms were comfortable and spacious.
The food was edible, but choice was limited, so be prepared to head back into Konstanz to eat if you do not like the hotel's evening menu.

Room Tip: First floor rooms overlooking the street were spacious

The hotel is very nice. However the difference in the rooms is considerable. Me and my boyfriend initially got a room on the third floor, very small, in really strong green colour. We did not like it and asked the staff to change it. They offered to us another one on the third floor, was very small again. At the end, we were offered a room on the second floor, a theme called Fjord. The room was twice bigger and much nicer. There was some problem with the hot water in the later afternoons. Otherwise, the rooms were clean, the furniture was interesting and the atmosphere nice. The breakfast was very rich. The staff was friendly. We strongly recommend the hotel restaurant, the food there was amazing!

This hotel was booked for us for first and last nights of a bicycle trip in the area. The hotel is modern, clean, and comfortable. Rooms have interesting themes (we were in the arctic the first night; on safari the last). It is quite a distance from the city center, as well as other businesses, so when we were here, we ate here. The Mexican-themed menu was a somewhat unwelcome surprise. Food was adequate. Breakfast buffet was good. We had contact with quite a few different staff members, both at the desk and in the bar/restaurant. Some were extremely helpful; some just did their job. It was a mixed bag and not a place I would return to.

We booked this hotel for a weekend as we had a voucher for one night. First of all it is easy to reach and can not be overlokked due to the boat in front of the hotel. the parking is below the hotel in 2 stories, you enter it from the side of the hotel throu´gh a small street. Parking is not included and costs 5 EUR per day. However they do not tell you but charge you at the end. I think I could just have answered their question "have you stayed in our garage" with no. They also have to charge you visitor tax which is 2 EUR per person, per day.

We booked a special arrangement where this hotel was advertized as theme hotel with special amenities. We received two glasses of sparkling wine for free as well as a disposable camera which we thought was a nice idea. We also were promised a sparkling wine for breakfast which we received, however as this was available for every guest, it was nothing special.

The theme rooms are nice however nothing special. To agree with one of the earlier German reviews, the romms are furnished with stuff you get from Ikea. That must not be bad but as our room was rather large and furniture were rare it looked kind of lost. We had the "Hakuna Matata" room which we booked on purpose. There were two wooden african masks on the walls, a wooden giraffe, a leo-print blancket on the sofa and a picture wallpaper with a tree and an elephant on one wall. That's it for the theme room. Could have been done nicer in our opinion.

The room had a small TV, electric shutter, a sofa, a table, something to put your luggage on, a cabinet, a small business desk on the wall and a hair-dryer in the bathroom.
The room was clean but as I said, somehow appealed lost too me. The bed was good. The bathroom had an open walk-in-shower, no tub. Tiles in here were of a funny sparkling blue.

The toilets of the hotel are in the lower floor, there is also a kids room where they can play and a smokers room. The problem is that the smookers keep their door open not to suffocate I guess. The door of the kids room is 2 meters away. Think about it.
They have a small area near the restaurant and chill-out area where you can play Wii and X-Box Kinect. This is mainly occupied by kids. The chill-out area is next to the restaurant and had big sofas to sit on.

The big downturn was the restaurant. It was by no means full but it took them one hour to get us our food. This was our experience on the arrival day where we were extremely hungry. As an apology I think I heard that personnel in the kitchen had a day off. Can happen but they should tell people that they have to wait. Also one of the younger waiters has a bad day it seems, he spilled drinks over guests two times.
The food was extremely good however. I had a spicy Indonesian dish, my girlfriend fish as it was fish day. Both was very good. But it was expensive. It is no problem to spend 30 EUR + for two people without starter. Also drinks were nice. Cocktails cost around 7 EUR. Dessert was small and expensive, we had Creme Catalana for 4 EUR which was tiny.

Further price examples:
- beer 0,5 - EUR 3,40
- wine 0,2 - EUR 4,80
- water 0,25 - EUR 2,50

Breakfast is good and there was plenty to chose from. Cereals, juices, sausages, cheese, ham and eggs, pancakes, bread and rolls. There was the possibility to boil your own egg. For this purpose there was a small cooker with water in it and hangers for the eggs with a stop clock. However as the water was not boiling, after 6 minutes it was still very soft. So this did not work out.
On our first day there was a juice extractor to make your own orange juice. On the second day it was gone.
The sliced vegetables like cucumber and carrots were partly dry, it seemed that they had been prepared way before. Also the raisins for the cereals were dry.
The coffee was kind of strong or burnt? I recommend that you get yourself a freshly made one from their coffee maker. Or a cappuchino.
However the rest was ok.

Still the hotel is nice and clean however expensive. They also have an elevator.

To visit:
- Meersburg (use the ferry)
- Lindau (use the ferry)

we stayed here twice: at the beginning of our bike trip and at the end. Our first room was 'Venus'; I don't recommend it: I think that there was a plumbing problem (I covered the drain in the shower with a wet towel and it seem to help a bit).
On visit two, we were given 'Artic'; it was lovely. Everything perfect. the breakfasts were always sooooooo good and large. The customer service was better than most 5 star hotels that I've stayed.

This hotel was such a surprise: We stayed here for to separate nights during a bike trip around Lake Constance. The owners came up with this vacation theme, so you get greeted with "Aloha" and the rooms have names like "Koh Samui", "Arctic" or "A little step" (the first one on the moon. Among other great decorations this room comes with a stars- and-milkyway-projector). Everything is super-cool and clean, the staff couldn's be more friendly.
The food in the restaurant: awesome! Just as the breakfast buffet with eggs, pancakes, all kinds of jams, cheeses, tees, peanut butter.... By foot it's only 20 minutes to the flower island Mainau from here, so you can skip the parking fees. Great running and bike paths!
