This hotel is definitely a great choice. When I was looking for a place to stay in Konstanz I wanted something that was not too expensive, but at the same time, nice and friendly. After reading the reviews, I noticed that some people complained about the distance, but as I don't mind walking, especially in Germany (a safe country) and specially in spring (a nice season), I decided to stay at Petershof. When I arrived there, I was expecting to walk quite a lot, but was surprised that the hotel was actually not as far as I had thought. And the walk was very pleasant. We just had to cross a bridge and we were already in the city center. Plus, the hotel offers free bus ticket for those that don't want to walk.

Oh, and as some reviews say (and I totally agree) the breakfast was excelent, with plenty of choices and all of them delicious!

I was also very happy with the service. When I was back home, I noticed that I had forgotten my recharger in the room, but didn't tell them anything. After couple of days, I received my recharger by post with no cost.

This is definitely a place I would reccommend!

Booked at last minute and got 2 of the last three rooms left (unfortunately 4th floor and no lift) but still we were happy as most places full due to Swiss/German holidays. We left Zurch late and called ahead, the receptionist was due to leave at 9pm but stayed back and made us very welcome. The room for my wife and our two littel ones was very large and a had a huge bathroom and was very well fitted out. My wifes cousin and her 12 year olds room was a littlew small and shower only but still well appointed.

As stated by others breakfast was great and served until 1030am so very good given our late arrival.

they have gues parking across the road from the hotel and you can get water /snacks etc from a couple of pizza shops even late in the evening just up the road.

The provided a table top fan which as needed in our room being top floor and as the duvets were still for spring weather.

If we visit Konstanz again we will definetely stay here (even if the suit of armour on the 2nd floor landing scared our little ones). LOL!!

Room Tip: they book from ground floor up so try to book early as they have no lift

This hotel was within walking distance of TWO train stations: a 25 minutes walk to Konstanz Hauptbahnhof and a 10 minute walk to Konstanz-Petershausen, which is one stop away and on the line that goes to Singen. The breakfast, which was FREE was amazing. I've never seen so much choice! My room was clean and quiet. It was not a big room, but perfectly fine was one person. It is true that there is no lift, so you had to heft your baggage up the stairs. But a nice young lady helped me. I do not speak German well, and when I struggled, they immediately found someone to help. The best part was when I needed to have my reservations printed out. A nice young man who spoke English well did it for me, and it was FREE!!
My only complaint about the hotel is that there is no mini-market nearby for you to stock up on drinks and snacks. The hotel does provide a well-stocked mini-bar. But of course, it costs you. My bill for 4 nights came to 26 euros, because the weather was warm and I was thirsty! This is NOT a cheap hotel. My room must have cost me around $120/night. But I thought it was worth it. I should note that I came by train and left by train, so I didn't have any experiences with parking a car there.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back. Mine was quiet.

Stayed for only one night here and paid much too much! The hotel is well situated - close to the touristic sites, in an old building, which can be nice but there are lots of steep stairs and no elevator, so I guess not everyone could easily get to their rooms. Staff is not really friendly - some of them do not understand even simple English and though we understand German, they did not seem to be willing to help. We paid extra for parking space but were told there is no parking for the hotel guests! What's even more surprising, after driving few meters to find any parking, we noticed a place with signs saying "Parking for Petershof hotel guests"!
We were given a room that is in another building (more stairs), next to some kitchen facilities, and it looked like it had been an apartment before - not at all convenient! It was clean and bright but all seemed odd, visibly adapted from something else - this does not help you relax in that place.
Internet was free but of course no reception in our room. The computer in the lobby did not work. And it's not a cheap hotel! At least the breakfast was included. All in all - I must admit that I spent the money badly.

Room Tip: Do not take the room no. 45
