Myself and a friend stayed in Bamberg for five days in June 2011. We ate in the restaurant once during the day and twice on different evenings, we in fact spent our last evening at the castle.
Apart for anything, the location is straight out of a movie!
We had amazing food, I recommend the liver dumpling soup for starters, amazing! Oliver the chef came out later in the evening when we had almost finished to wish us well as we had met when dining at the restaurant outside in the sun on our first visit.
Simply, if you are in Bamberg, do not pass through without visiting the castle and restaurant. Outstanding food, wine & service!!
