“Jewel of Friedrichshafen's food scene”
Reviewed 1 February 2014

Ordered the Kalbsteak. Took a risk because I've been disappointed with beef products in Friedrichshafen. Risk well taken. The chantrelle sauce is a the heavenly bond that ties the veal and spaetzle together. Made from wine and cream the sauce was cleaned off the plate with the unlimited spaetzle. The veal while cooked well done was very good certainly benefited from the sauce. I really should have asked for more sauce drizzled over a bowl of their well executed spaetzle. Try not to miss the house dressing on one of their salads.

Note that the restaurant parades their fish dishes. It may well be their signature.

Staff is attentive. They do try their best to make sure you dinner experience goes well.

“Brilliant Find”
Reviewed 31 August 2013

This place is off the tourist area really and we only found it after going for a walk on the waters edge. The staff here are so friendly and as for the food - well it is gorgeous. Proper authentic German food cooked exceptionally well. The Kartoffelsalat was the best I had on all our holiday round Germany and the cook even gave us her recipe! The idea of your salad coming as a starter is good.
You can tell how good this place is by the number of locals who use it.

“Good food and very friendly service”
Reviewed 2 March 2013 via mobile

We took the advice of the last English reviewer and were not disappointed. The menu is partially in English which is really helpful. Food was very good and staff very helpful. Happy to recommend.

“Our favourite restaurant in Friedrichshafen!!”
Reviewed 20 May 2009

Name of restaurant? Weinstube Gluckler

Where is it? Olgastrasse 23, opposite Graf-Zeppelin-Haus

This restaurant was recommended by one of the receptionists at the City Krone Hotel where we stayed in Friedrichshafen.

It doesn't appear to be listed in the restaurants for the area but my husband and I feel this is a great injustice.

We have travelled extensively around the Med and Europe and can honestly say that Gluckler offers some of the finest food that we have tasted anywhere, and without being expensive. We stayed in Friedrichshafen for 3 nights and ate here every night - even though it was at the opposite end of the harbour to our hotel and my husband has some mobility problems.

Most menus in Friedrichshafen are only in German but the menu at this restaurant is in German and English! If there were any difficulties with translation, the elegant and attractive Rosie (proprietor) did her best to help.

Our particular favourites were the Schweinsteak (huge tender pork steak) and Felchen Konstanzer (freshly caught white fish from Lake Constance) - both with a sauce to "die for". To quote my husband "These meals left a taste of angels on the tongue!"

The decor is traditional; the menu is extensive; the staff are professional and helpful and there is a separate dining room for smokers.

We think Rosie and the Gluckler should be the number one restaurant in Friedrichshafen - she certainly deserves to be!!
