The hotel is nice, nothing special and in central Wetzlar pretty much. For three nights the price was fairly reasonable but wifi is not included, and neither is the breakfast. I think the breakfast was 25$ and the wifi was around 4$/24hrs. Luckily there are lots of bakeries that open around 6 that often have cheap breakfast options available, or the local Rewe/Penny (grocery store), open around 8. It has a pool and conference rooms, and there are apartment style rooms available. There are quite a few guest house, local hotels in the area and I would probably stay in one of those If i was in Wetzlar again.

The hotel (at least the parts I saw) had been generally redecorated so was fresh. The room design was one of the best I have seen in a hotel. There was a bath, which is always a bonus for me. The lifts were a little less smart. The hotel was quiet even though busy on some nights
Service was excellent - my requests were dealt with quickly and fully by the friendly and helpful front desk.
Parking was sufficient for most nights but was almost full on two nights (I got the last space one night but it was 02.00 so I was probably the last person to arrive). It really had a 24 hour front desk.
I had a superior room on a prepay non-cancelleable basis

Room Tip: I had a superior room on a prepay non-cancelleable basis

we booked for four nights asking for a superior room on arriving ask if we could up grade ,we were advised that it was booked out .we then went to our so called superior room which was very small .It was not a superior room .Spoke to the receptionist who was rude saying it was the correct room she then after an argument she gave us a superior room which was on their web sight. The bathroom had black mould around the bath and the lights didn't work .Hallways very noisy we didn't have breakfast as we had enough . Having traveled throughout France and Germany we found that this was the worst hotel we have stayed in expecting it to be a 4 star but receiving a 2 star service .they should be down graded.

Stayed at Mercure for one night while visiting town with a group of Leica camera enthusiasts.

Was worried that there was a large, very noisy wedding in progress when we arrived, but the room on 4th floor was quiet and very comfortable. But totally lacking in charm. The hotel feels like a travelling salesman's hotel.

Still, it was just right for want we needed and the breakfast was very good.

Would stay here again.

Easy to park and check in. The man in reception spoke good English. The hotel layout was a bit peculiar, but we found our way to the third floor okay. Standard sort of hotel room.

We went to have make use of the pool and sauna facilities in the evening. The changing rooms were small and not very hidden from view, only separated from the walkway to the pool by a small curtain. The six-ish lockers in each changing room (one for men, one for women) didn't necessarily work, plus the key was very hard to get leverage when turning because of its shape. There was no identifier on the key to say which locker it belonged to and you couldn't fasten it to your clothes or wrist or anything either. In the mens room, only one locker actually had a lock!

The pool was small and the water was advertised as being 28°C, which, when trying to descend into it, translated as "this is REALLY COLD" (not sure 28 was accurate, to be honest), so I only got further than my knees before we both decided against a swim.

The sauna was off and it only gets switched on by request, and then it stays on for a couple of hours. We couldn't be bothered. The jacuzzi was out of order and the gym consisted of two machines. Perfectly understandable why we were the only people there. The showers would only stay on for about ten seconds before you needed to push the button again, so we went back to the room and had showers there.

On the PLUS side, though, it's within easy walkable distance to the Old Town.
