“Peaceful little hideaway with everything on your doorstep.”
Reviewed 15 November 2017 for a stay in October 2017

The Summer House was the perfect location for our weekend visiting family as only a short walk from tube station and on the high street with shops, cafes and restaurants. However, it's not visible from the street and once inside the garden area, it's completely quiet and peaceful. In October, unfortunately, the weather wasn't good enough to enjoy the garden but it would be great to be able to sit out on a summer evening.
We found the Summer House very comfortable and convenient. We slept well - lovely to be able to look up and see the trees and the stars through the roof windows over the bed. The heating worked quickly to take off the autumn chill.
The kitchen area was quite well-equipped, and there was an assortment of cereals, packets and tins in the cupboard. Waitrose is just across the road if you need anything and we ate out at nearby restaurants in the evenings.
The only thing we didn't rate very highly was the wet-room because the slope on the floor appeared insufficient to guide the water towards the drain causing the whole floor to get wet but it wouldn't stop us booking to stay again next time we're visiting the area.

“Tranquil”
Reviewed 1 July 2016 for a stay in June 2016

The owners are lovely the accommodation is fantastic value , quirky , relaxing and only 10 metres from the high street yet totally relaxing , outside is a courtyard and seating area. Whenever I am in the area the summer house is my first choice and I always sleep well and easy to park

“Great place, has everything for a relaxing stay. Very clean and quite and just mins from Buckhurst Hill shops/tube.”
Reviewed 19 April 2016 for a stay in March 2016

I needed somewhere to stay for a month in between moving house and wanted somewhere that I could live in comfortably for a month without having to be out all the time to eat or entertain myself. The Summer House delivered on all fronts, from the comfortable furniture, fully equipped kitchen, great shower room, cable TV and super fast broadband. I could not only relax there (having a coffee and breakfast in the secluded and peaceful garden was particularly nice) but the internet connection there was good enough that I was able to work remotely when needed,

You really wouldn't think you are literally a 2 minute walk from Queens Road and all the shops and restaurants/bars when your sat inside or in the garden, it was so quite.

In addition to all of the above, it was also not an issue bringing my cat with me who loved the open layout of the cottage and the enclosed garden and Vicki and her partner who were extremely nice and great hosts. I shall definitely book again if I ever need to stay somewhere near London again.

Lovely find!! Very clean and comfortable accommodation. Luckily, we stayed over a weekend, as there would have been a problem with parking, otherwise. Really enjoyed our stay.

“A gorgeous quiet retreat after working in the city ....”

As a business traveller, I am fed up staying in noisey hotels.......I was looking for a place to stay mid week just outside the city......the summerhouse was such a great find.....
If your looking for somewhere as a base for London great! just a minutes walk and your on the Central line, if you want a quiet night stay in and have a takeaway from just steps away. If you prefer to eat locally, perfect you are on the pretty Buckhurst Hill high Street.
I just wanted to chill after a busy day so chilled with a bottle of wine and went to bed in peace and quiet looking up at trees through the sky light!
I can't fault it, plus as an interior designer very impressed with the interior....the images do not do it justice........yes a haven. Thanks Vicki & Pete loved it, will return as I love the privacy and would recommend your lovely Summer house to friends and colleagues.

“Is the summer house's owner a ghost?”

The first thing that went wrong was the lack of any sense of hospitality or politeness. The landlords never showed up to greet us or to explain, and the key to the flat was left at a nearby shop.
While there was a good selection of cereals, fresh milk and yogurt in the kitchen (but no coffee capsules for the nespresso coffee machine), these were never replenished in the 8 days of our stay. This is not what I was expecting for something defined as a "Bed and Breakfast".

But the worst thing was the awful smell in the access passageway, after a dog had been left free to foul there and in the garden, day after day. Two specimens of dog's excrement were left just in front of the summer house, where my daughter would run around.

Hence, two star in service and cleanliness is actually generous.
