It is worth visiting. It has a nice view and nice surounding gardens, so we took advantage of the sunny day and walked around. Although there are some explanations in English, not everything has a translation, so it is difficult to understand if you don't know german.

Visiting Glucksburg for a 3 days stay, you really want to see this nice Castle.
The sourrounding Park is worth a visit too.
There is a Restaurant at the Castle, but we didn't try it out, maybe next time.

This is one of the most famous castles on water in Germany with a picturesque park around, which we have enjoyed even on a chilly autumn day! Perfect for a day trip or a short weekend visit if you are nearby.

We didn't know about this town or this attraction until we saw the signs on the autoroute. They provided recorded guides in many languages, and the self-guided tour was informative. We sometimes lost our place in the automated guide, but that's not a problem, as you can backup and move forward at any time. You have to wear special shoes in one of the rooms (slippery, but necessary), and you have to pay an extra fee to take interior photos (not sure of the cost). The surrounding town is a nice place to stop for lunch. Not sure of the quantity of overnight accommodations.

Glucksberg is an absolutely beautiful castle in a gorgeous village close to Flensburg. The castle is full of wonderful treasures and interesting artefacts relating to its links with many of the Royal Families throughout Europe. If I had one criticism, it would be that the cellars should have an age warning on the door - some of the instruments of torture are NOT the sort of things young children need to see.
