My wife and I stayed here and loved the location! The complimentary breakfast with our rate was perfect and very delicious!! We also had multiple meals in the restuarant and everything we tried was very tasty. They have bikes you can use for the day and that was really nice to bike along the Mosel to nearby towns. The only thing it lacks are the rooms, def needs an update and more comfortable beds.

Also, staff is amazing!!

Clean, comfortable, no river views directly but a very short stroll. The room was a deluxe room in one of the out properties (Margarethe) but there was sufficient parking to be sure. The room itself was airy, bright and welcoming. We were exhausted so the room was more than adequate - rock and blanket might have worked - but all the same very enjoyable as we awoke greatly refreshed. Pet friendly. A nice, large breakfast as well.

Service was very solid - all was arrange exactly as asked...had we not made some personalizations, in all likelyhood the staff would have made it better - our choice of having a place with a view for dining was not the good one...stick with the Zeltinger next time out. Based on breakfast and the dessert we DID have once we left the site of our dining mistake, the food of an evening also would be quite enjoyable.

A bit steep on the price for the room we booked but manageable.

Stayed here for 2 days last weekend and had a some very good home style food, an outstanding wine list and some very friendly and helpful service. To be honest I only came here for the wine: 150 wines by glass, and an amazing selection from 2 Euros right the way up to 50 for the sweet wines, and from many of Germany's top producers plus a lot of very good local producers. The owner went out of his way to make the weekend special; the 1st evening he gave me over 12 wines to try plus some delicious snacks, then on the next day took me to a very special wine tasting in a very old cellar, all local wineries with wine at amazingly low prices. Dinner was very good, local trout cooked simply in a delicious white wine sauce, and then home made Rosti topped with mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes, cauliflower broccoli and carrots, plus of course some more wine. Room was very good, obviously recently refurbished and with comfy bed plus powerful shower. Overall a very good place to stay, and highly recommended for wine freaks.

Room Tip: Ask which house you will be in before you go, as some of them involve some narrow and quite steep st...

My husband and I stayed in the Ratschanke guest house which is part of the Zeltinger Hof group of lodgings in Zeltingen. We stayed in the Sonnenuhr room which is a spacious room with a large comfortable bed. Everything was very clean. The location is in the small village of Zeltingen which is about a 5 minute drive to Bernkastel. The room faces the street and was a bit noisy both evening and morning with village life. The restaurant at the Zeltinger Hof is very good and reasonably priced and uses organic local ingredients. Bernkastel is a wonderful old picturesque village with fun shopping. A great place to enjoy some wonderful Riesling. Try the Selbach Oster wines!!!

We stayed one night and as part of a cycle tour on the Mosel Radweg, and had a great experience. Our rooms were in the separate Gästehaus "Margarethe" just a half block down from the main house, and they were huge, modern, clean, and comfortable. Upon our arrival the staff were very helpful in directing us to the cycle parking garage, and helping us with our baggage. Free WiFi in the hotel was a bonus. We took dinner on the terrace across the street from the hotel, and had great meals with super service. One of our party had local trout which was a nice change from the usual fare. The owner, Herr Reis, stopped by our table to check on us. Breakfast in the main hotel was very good, and the dining room was very comfortable. Highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms in the Gästehaus "Margarethe" are very nice!

I stayed for a couple of nights in Zeltinger Hof after reading positive reviews. I was rather disappointed by the experience. Zeltinger Hof is a cheap hotel so my expectations were not sky high. However, I found the room (penthouse) inconvenient and small. The bed was uncomfortable and it was very hot inside the room.

The breakfast was not too good.

The wine list in the restaurant is excellent. The food is heavy German stuff. It is not bad but it is not good either.

Overall, I was not impressed by Zeltinger Hof. But it may be that the alternative options nearby are even less impressive.

We ate in the restaurant a couple of times and the food was excellent local produce well cooked. Nothing too fancy. Home cured hams were excellent at €6. What really got me is that they have 110 wines available by the glass including a 1999 Auslese, along with a large wine fridge full of Ausleses going back to 1959 by the bottle. All are available to buy and take away. Staff are friendly, menus can be had in English and the proprietor is a real wine enthuisast. This has to be best place to try German wines.
