We spend one night in this hotel. We got a huge room with a kitchen. However the kitchen did not include even one plate, so in order to use you need to buy kitchen stuff. It is close to the Rhein river which is really nice. The hotel is located on top of a shopping center which is nice in term of accessibility to a huge cheap food store. However, parking is in the shopping center which is busy when the stores are open and it is difficult to find a parking space. Also parking space are fare from the hotel inference.

The breakfast buffet is excellent, well worth 5 EUR.
Bustling shopping centre downstairs, including a Marktkauf hypermarket that sells everything.
Short walk from Basel (< 2 km to tram stop) with all its attractions.
Short walk to France (sleepy bedroom community just across the bridge).
Short drive to Basel EuroAirport (10 minutes).

However, the layout of the hotel is a bit of a maze. It's on the top floors of the Rhein Centre shopping complex. Lobby is upstairs, not on the way out. Multi-storey parking is at the back; you have to go down, across, and up another elevator. Some of the hotel doors are exit-only, so you have to walk to the main entrance. It all takes a while to get used to, and is a bit annoying if you have luggage to move.

We looked up this hotel so that we could stop halfway our car trip between Belgium and italy. The prices are very good (especially in comparison with Switzerland)

The rooms are very big. The parking is free and secure.

The breakfast is excelent

In het rooms you can find a list of restaurants en things to do in the neighbourhood (there is a fine german restaurant nearby).

Next to the hotel is a pedesterian bridge across the rhine. The hotel is near the point were the borders of three countries meet (france, Germany and switzerland)

The only strange thing is that the rooms are on top of twoo seperate buildings, so it's a bit of a search the first time you have to find your room alone (when you get the key, the receptionist accompagnies you to the room)

The hotel is abeam a shopping center and 1min away from Rhein River (walking distance). A few nice restaurants are also located around the hotel. From Basel City you have to take once a tram and a bus. The bus stop is across the street. The breakfast was great. Fresh eggs, joghurts, juice, bred, toast and much more. A taxi costs you 25.- Euro from the hotel to the airport. If you take a taxi from the airport, it will cost you 50.- Euro!!!
The room I had smells (cigarette smoke) and it was very old. Looks like an old 1.5 bedroom appartment equipped with a citchen. The room was more or less clean. Unfortunately I was not able to change the room, because the hotel was completely booked...
The staff is very friendly.

Room Tip: I can recommend a stay in this hotel, but make sure you get a nice room..! The Maximilian and the Hotel Dreiländereck have the same reception... maybe there are the same company in the back.

We stopped here while driving from Switzerland to northern Germany. The hotel is actually part of a rather sizeable shopping centre which meant plenty of parking and a lot of restaurant choices. We had a family room that was enormous, with a kitchenette. Our kids loved having space to run around the room and the gummi bears on the beds were a big hit. The hotel is a bit hard to find from inside the shopping center, and it seems like the different floors are a bit of a maze, with it not being quite possible to get to the hotel or the floor of your room from certain lifts.

The parking lot lifts are terribly slow and inefficient, with only a call button, so when the lift stops it could be going up or down, but get in and press your floor anyway, as another won't be coming for quite some time.

Room Tip: The family room was very big, not much view, but excellent for a couple and 2 children.
