First, the room: it was extremely clean. The bathroom was practically spotless. The room itself was very large, and despite having booked a single I was given a two-bed double with a couch, which was nice. There was a french door that led out to a big communal balcony; as it was January I obviously didn't spend any time out there, but I imagine they must have chairs out there in the summertime. There was a complimentary bottle of sparkling water.
The breakfast buffet was amazing, with a ton of choices. They also made scrambled eggs to order!
The hotel itself is out in a little Dorf a short ways away from Schwabisch Hall. I had a car so there was no problem getting there; apparently the hotel is twenty minutes away from the center of S.H. via a footpath, which I didn't try out because, again, it was January! I don't know how easily reachable it would be if you are traveling with public transport.
When I arrived there on a Saturday night there was barely a parking spot to be found. It seemed the entirety of Gottwollshausen was in the Sonneck, either in the pub watching a football match or in the restaurant having a family meal out. The hotel has a pool table, darts and even a few bowling lanes so I imagine if you are traveling with disenchanted teenagers this might be a good pick. The dinner I ate in the restaurant was very good although not inexpensive.
