We had a half a day to spend in black forest region so we decided to visit Lake Titisee. Trains leave every half an hour from Freiburg and it takes 42minutes to reach the Titisee station. We had expected to pass through the Black Forest on out train trip but the route is nothing of that sort. The lake itself is around 10 minutes away from the train station & you need to walk towards the right after you step out & the station building is behind you. Titisee is a very touristy destination, commercialised with shops selling souvenirs & cheap goods. there are several places to eat ranging from small bakeries to proper restaurants. Its that one street by the lake full of shops that defines the place. We walked down the street, did not take the boat ride as it was not in the least bit tempting. Try Bergsee for lunch, their Homemade Black Forest Gateau was the highlight of our trip. In spite of it all one has to admit that there is a certain natural beauty that the lake exudes with the black forest on one side of it.
