“Very good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 July 2014 via mobile

Got a very good 3 night stop deal with breakfast. Good quick reception staff & a very nice large room with a bath. Free parking outside but the free WiFi was slow. Good breakfast & helpful staff. There is no air conditioning in the rooms. It was 29c when we were there but the rooms dont get too hot. A good pool & sauna which was hardly ever used. The hotel hires out good quality push bikes & electric ones as well. The town is a 10 minute walk away through the very well maintained park. We enjoyed our stay & would use the hotel again.

We stayed here as part of a big road trip last year. The hotel is very nice with an enormous lobby and lovely cocktail bar. The pool and spa were fantastic and very clean. Our room was huge with bath robes provided and a huge bathroom. The bathroom mirror was the size of a small London flat! Big tv, big bed but all bought and paid for. We paid a lot of money and got what you would expect for that sort of money. So, you do get your money's worth but I wouldn't say it's a bargain.

Overall, we were glad to have splashed out a bit as it was everything we expected. Thumbs up!

Intended to spend only one night here between Wurzberg & Rothenburg while touring the Romantic Road but the rooms were so nice, the price was great and the breakfast was so yummy we decided to stay two. They didn't have any family rooms but they did have two side by side rooms that worked great for our family. The rooms were quite large by European standards and the hotel was a short scenic walk from the town square which had some wonderful beer gardens and numerous little stores for your every need.

The pool downstairs was nice and basic and there is an adjoining courtyard in which you can lounge between dips. There is also a nice steam sauna and a few sunbeds just off from the pool area. The hotel is situated in a nice little resort area with spas and walks and cafes all around. There is apparently a waterpark nearby but it was closed when we were there so we never went looking for it. Breakfast was a full buffet with a wide assortment of baked goods, meat, fruit, veggies, juices and coffee. We all loved it. The only real downside to the hotel was the sporadic wifi connection which never worked in the rooms and was a little hit and miss in the lounge area across from the lobby.

The staff were very friendly and tried to be helpful whenever we had questions. Next time we decide to tour the Romantic Road we will make this hotel our base for a much longer stay, despite the daily drive back and forth.

Room was clean. Front desk service excellent. Convenient location. Good breakfast as well as good supper experience with the restaurant. Very poor Internet service. Overpriced in comparison to other hotels we stayed at in our 3 week European road trip.

The Parkhotel is in the best location possible, effectively inside the immaculately maintained Kurgarten, and only a sort walk from the town centre. An awesome swimming complex is also within an easy 10 minute walk. Overall its a great base to explore the Romantic Road.
The hotel would have been the height of fashion when it was built in 1983, and retains all of its cool 80s decor. It has a nice but very modest sized gym and pool, and decent sized rooms. The clientele are the older crowd - many of the guests appeared to be there for the healing waters, and very much german rather than international.
The only big downside in August was the lack of air condition. Southern Germans seem to be in denial about the need for it despite the fact that it was 34 degrees plus on the days we were staying there. and we needed to rent an air con unit for an extra 5 euros per day. Parking can get a little scarce in the afternoon.

Room Tip: Make sure they have an available air con unit if you are staying in August.
