“3 Visits says it all!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 November 2009

Traditional German bar and restaurant. Has a biergarten for summer,
We found the hospitality good and they have some understanding of English as the owner lived in Chicago for a few years (and an English menu) though this was not an issue for us.
Menu has variety, not all bits of "pig". Most dishes include a helping from their salad bar, so you can make sure you get your greens.
We can both highly recommend the Hirsch (Venison) Goulash. I had a couple of fish dishes which were good and my partner had a lovely pork in a creamy mushroom sauce.
Handy if staying at the Alpen Club as it is only about 300 metres away.

“Even the kids enjoyed it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 August 2009

We too recently stayed at the Alpen Club, and hungry for a taste of "real" Bavaria we popped in to the Princemweg (no need to reserve, they have oodles of tables both indoors and out).
The food we adults had was excellent, rustic, tasty and excellently prepared. The only downside was the salad bar. It was fresh and inviting, but I'm afraid I over-indulged leaving me struggling to get through the substantial main course. Mind you, I only made this mistake once!
Puddings and wine were equally good.
A real plus was the childrens menu, which whist maintaining a Bavarian feel to it, was attractive to my picky kids who ate heartily whist working out what the wolpertings were up to.
For dessert its got to be the Austrian pancakes.
We visited several times and will be back there on our next trip too.

“Great, Bavarian dishes, prices and hosts in a friendly atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 June 2009

Staying in the nearby 'Alpenclub' resort this restaurant was a great find, within staggering distance on a full, very full stomach! Our highlight was the delicious Venison Goulash, the best gravy/sauce we have had in a long time! We were so impressed we ate here every evening, and cursed ourselves for not finding this gem of a place on our last 2 visits to the club. The hostess has worked in Chicago, so communication was not a problem, and allowed us to customise our food orders, adding French fries or Baked potatoe to vary the ever present dumplings!
When you visit you will be certain not to go home feeling hungry!
