Giessen is a major university town with some 30,000 students in a population of 80,000 and the hotel had the 80s feel of someplace dedicated to visiting parents. Futon-like chair, old style TV, etc. It has the standard small German bathroom with square shower, etc., and a door with key lock not card lock. evetyone here, however, seemed businessmna, especially at the typically hearty breakfast, where they did not have stilles mineralwasser, the first breakfast buffet i encountered in a week of travels around thr country that didn't. Staff is friendly enough, but take note, the hotel is on a very busy square, so make sure you ask for a quiet room at the back. My room was quiet and spacious. The hotel is right near the Dach Cafe which is great for Kafee und Kuchen, and has a view of the city from twelve floors up.
