“Fine for business travel in the area...not quite an 'airport hotel'”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 April 2012

Stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights last December. As other reviewers have pointed out, it's a little far from Frankfurt Airport to classify it as an airport hotel, although it's only a short (20 min) taxi ride away. Room was spacious and perfectly adequate, hotel itself is typical Holiday Inn fare. No complaints at all about noise, facilities etc. Hotel reception were efficient and friendly. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice and very good coffee. Can't comment on the meals as did not eat in the restaurant.

Not much to do in the area surrounding the hotel.....taxis take ages to arrive so easier to take a 5-minute walk down to the centre of Neu-Isenburg, where there's a reasonable choice of restaurants etc. All in all....a perfect hotel for those who don't mind staying a little out of Frankfurt itself, and ideal for business travellers in the Dreieich or Neu-Isenburg areas.

Just because there is a ‘shuttle service’ and TVs with the airport departures in the lobby shouldn’t qualify this place as an ‘airport hotel.’ The hotel is a solid 15 minute commute on the highway to the airport, which leaves you well isolated from both the convenience of the airport and isolated from the city centre. The shuttle service is NOT FREE. The meter starts at €15 one-way. If you bring an entourage and you can fill the van, the price goes down per person. If you’re planning on an early morning departure there is a good chance that the shuttle won’t be running. So that’s you in a cab. That tab for a taxi is €30. The rooms are fine and all, but the issue here is that this hotel is located in the middle of the forest, and comes with hidden charges. Not even free wifi. If you’re getting a rate near €60 a night then you should calculate another €30 to €60 on top of the room rate just to get to and from the airport. For €90 - €120 you can get a better place closer to the airport. Also, Frankfurt centre is €20 in a taxi. For the airport layover traveler there are dozens of other places closer to the airport, and for the city traveler you are better off heading straight into Frankfurt.

The hotel is not far from the airport and good for business travelers if you have to be in the area. It is located outside the centre in a business / industrial area. You need transport to get to the centre.

The restaurant is what you would expect in this kind of hotel : mediocre.

The rooms are more or less ok, a bit dull and without furnished without any inspiration.

The hotel was more than adequate for our needs. Very comfortable large rooms, very comfortable beds, clean, slightly small but clean bathroom and wifi available for fairly reasonable rates. There was a good range of things for breakfast too which were overall pretty good, although the scrambled eggs weren't brilliant.

On the downside - a bit stuck in the middle of "nowhere", although there was a shopping centre and some restaurants up the road (quite a long way). My problem with this hotel is that we were taking part as exhibitors at Messe and the reason I chose the hotel was that they had a shuttle bus, which I was told left 1 hour before it opened and came back 1 hour after the exhibition closed. The truth was that it left 1/2 hour before and we could not use it as we were late on the stand on the day we did try it. No question about making the evening bus back. So in short - if you have a car, or do not need to use their shuttle bus to the exhibition as an exhibitor - it is more than adequate. I also think that it is fine as an airport hotel as they do have a shuttle bus for that. Also it struck me that there was ample parking space.

The biggest issue we had with the hotel was the hotel shuttle. When we arrived in Frankfurt we called for the hotel shuttle. It arrived in a timely manor and took us to the hotel without incident. The afternoon before we were to check out we stopped by the desk and inquired about the procedure to get the hotel shuttle back to the airport. We were told to tell them what time we needed to leave. We double checked our departure time and stopped back by the desk and they wrote down our name and pick up time. When we went to check out in the morning, 8:00 am, we were told that there was a 25 euro fee for the shuttle. There was no mention of this on the web site at Priority Club at booking, no mention of this either time we spoke to them at the desk. There was no fee for picking us up at the airport. There was no Manager to speak to. Apparently the manager is only available from 1:00pm to 10pm.
We found the staff to be very unfriendly and not at all helpful. As we passed through the lobby we noticed on 3 different occasions that no one was at the front desk. We called down to the desk to inquire about a problem and no one answered. We waited 10 minutes and tried again, no answer. When we went down to the desk the employee was eating her breakfast and said that she didn't hear the phone.
There were 3 TV channels in English, but a note on the channel menu that more free English channels could be unlocked by calling a number on the phone. To our surprise 2 of the channels were hard core porn. We didn't watch long enough to hear if they were speaking English, but I guess porn is a universal language.
The hotel is not in Frankfurt nor near the airport, although the walls are adorned with photos of airplanes.

Rooms were adequate for a business stay of four-five days. Shower was a bit temperamental. Wi-fi in the room was of reasonable quality but not free. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They are probably the best thing about this hotel. The food in the restaraunt is pretty average. Breakfast options lack variety and imagination. On the last day of my stay there was mouldy bread in one of the baskets. Shows a complete lack of attention. Evening menu is limited but what's there isn't bad. The bar doesn't have much atmosphere and range of drinks is very limited. Whiskey was very expensive. Overall it's just about ok, pulling through mainly on its friendly and helpful staff.

Dear Hsilgnede,

thank you for reviewing your stay with us. It is great, if our guests take their time and give us their feedback.
We are glad that you were satisfied with our staff.
We are sorry about it, that the breakfast buffet didn't come up to your expectations and that you found mouldy bread in one of the baskets. We will transmit it to the kitchen, so something does not happen again.
We will appreciate to welcome you again as our guest and in case you have any questions or wishes meanwhile, do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind regards
Nadine Schäfer

Have been staying at this property for almost 10 years. Impressed that it is weathering the downturn in the economy without too many changes. The recent renovation of the rooms to include a travel and spa color and amenity theme is example of something that I would not have expected. But then I do miss the Friday evening seasonal themed dinners and the summer patio weekend grill events. (HINT TO HOTEL STAFF: Return the summer weekend grill nights and Friday themed dinners).

I can only echo the previous review comments:

- Very large rooms,
- Unexpectedly good sauna area,
- Extensive breakfast buffet,

But I would differ with some complaints provided by other reviewers:

- "Need a car" -- NOT SO! There is a terrific hotel shuttle service to/from FRA airport that is 10€ cheaper than a taxi and much more than a rental car. If you are more adventurous then I would suggest you take the S-Bahn from FRA aiport and transfer to line that drops you at Neu-Isenburg train station and bus transfer to stop right in front of hotel for less than 4€. There are also S-Bahn family ticket for even more economy savings.

- "Not an airport hotel" -- Disagree on this one. Evidence is that the hotel is even preferred hotel for flight crews from a number of airlines. Those Brazilian flight attendants make for a lively bar scene in the evening! Actually, like the 15km distance from FRA airport as the noise much reduced from properties that sit alongside the airport, proper.

Room Tip: Neu-Isenburg City Centre mall is a healthy 3km walk from the hotel, BUT is shorter if you take the p...
