very good breakfast, very good localtion to the Si PV conference hall, the first night was very cold in the room due to the big table blocking the heating flow from the heater. Second night was OK with the whole day heat up.

The hotel is not far from the city center. It has a small parking lot just in front of the hotel. This was really too small then when I arrived all places were taken.
I had then to park nearby. Breakfast was good with large variety of choice and the internet access was OK.
The room was far too small and absolutely not accepted for a hotel of this level and for the price I paid. My single bed was accommodated just against the wall with the TV just on my right. Both the TV and myself were oriented towards the door so there was no way to watch it from my bed and no way to watch from other parts of the room, definitely too small.
Light was coming from the corridor through the bottom of the door and I had to put some towels to manage to get to sleep.

If I have to consider the reception, the hall and the breakfast room the hotel was OK but with a room like this the final evaluation it cannot be anything else but insufficiently good!

Room Tip: Try to book a double room, probably you will get a better treatment.

This hotel was the choice of DFDS Ferries for passengers taking them up on their 4-night short break. 2 nights on Ferry and 2 nights in Mercure Hameln, billed as a 4-star hotel. The curate's egg comes in here: The breakfasts were excellent with attractive layout and attentive, friendly staff. The reception area was clean again with attentive staff. The disappointing element lay in the room. It was tired, dowdy in fact. The curtains had a great long slash of a hole in them where you had to persuade them to close by yanking them along behind a huge long desk/dressing table with no mirror. The balcony had wooden planks needing to be relaid as a couple of othem had sprung. The walls were in need of a couple of coats of paint, as they showed black stripes from lots of cases etc. being leaned against them. To be fair to the hotel they responded well to my pre-trip email requesting a quiet room - but while I was on the 6th floor, they put me right opposite the entrance to the lifts! It wasn't really a problem though, so no real gripe there. I did remark to the receptionist on the way out that the decor really needs a facelift. Situation is excellent though for walking into the old town.

Room Tip: I think I might choose a different, better hotel! However in the Mercure ask for a room on the 6th...

We stayed in a Superior Room for two nights in December 2012 as part of a DFDS Mini-Cruise package and found the accommodation to be very good, the service friendly and efficient with all the staff we encountered speaking good English, the room to be comfortable and quiet and everything well maintained, clean and bright. Our room came with a balcony and a view over the hotel’s courtyard. The hotel was located adjacent to the pleasant Burgergarten and a short walk to the historic and very attractive town centre and the vibrant Christmas Market. The picturesque small Hamel River is to the rear of the hotel and pleasant Weser River is just a further stroll through the town centre. The buffet breakfast was excellent with a good variety and well presented. We ate both evenings at the hotel, the first was a comprehensive buffet of excellently prepared German dishes and on the second evening we dined at the bar having enjoyable local dishes. During the festive season the hotel also provided mugs of free Gluwein and a selection of biscuits for their guests. We will definitely stay at this hotel when we return to Hameln.

Unfortunety we were very disapointed with this hotel, we do not feel it should be given the 4 star grade, on arrival we were giving a room with 2 signal beds that were not made up, when I complained we were given the room we had booked :-(
Still the room was not made up, the room wasnt as clean as it could have been and the bar was just odd.
We had booked two nights but left after 1 and booked another hotel

First impression of my room was 'yuk' - cold colours, '80's' look and feel and all a bit jaded. However despite it all having seen better days it was all clean and servicable. The bathroom had been updated - but the loo prevented the door opening fully - and the towel rail at the side of the shower posed an interesting problem (for men at least) - it was that small.

The shower worked well - plenty of hot water and nice clean towels (not all hotels have that luxury these days and seem to believe that Florrie Nightengale's view of washing things hot and strong to prevent the spread of germs no longer applies. Guess that's why bed bugs proliferate.

Had a meal in the Bier Stube - could not fault it - excellent service too.

Parking is in an underground municiple car park right next door - so be prepared to find your way to it and pay for it. Light and bright and video and you can park very close to the exit to the hotel - so probably safe ...

Room Tip: Ask if any have been refurbished perhaps?
