Stayed one night so we could see Barlach's Angel in the cathedral. Convenient free parking right outside the door, friendly and helpful reception staff who spoke good English and allowed us to access our room early. Five minute walk to town.
The room itself was clean, pleasant and functional. Not large but perfectly adequate.
We ate in the hotel and found the food well prepared and tasty. Breakfast offered a very good choice. There were two coach parties staying but they were given a separate dining room . Overall very good value.

Room Tip: Rooms at the rear are probably quieter.

We were looking for nothing more than somewhere to break a long drive and this place sounded perfect - and it was.

Apparently an old Hospital the place does have a functional appearance. Staff very friendly, everyone had perfect English and check in was efficient.

the room was actualy better than the picture on the boking website - nothing overly plush but very functional and comfortable.

Location was great for the town - directly opposite the Schloss and a 5 min wander to the Market Place.

Don't understand some earlier comments ref the breakfasts and parking. Loads of parking spaces (albeit around the back) and the breakfast - for a hotel in this price bracket was actually superb. Modern dining room and a wide choice of freshly cooked and cold choices. Wifi was free and worked wel.....

All in all this place is nothing flash or glitzy. It is however everything we wanted - clean friendly affordable comfortable with a great breakfast, lots of parking and a perfect location. Liked it. A lot.....

This is listed as a three star hotel and it is. It is neither plain nor elegant. If you want a clean, safe reasonably price place to stay than I would recommend. The breakfast is not much to write home about but it will take care of the need.

Room Tip: If you can face the castle all the better.

It's a nice place to stay even if we still had the feeling of the former hospital because of the very long corridors and the huge amount of rooms. Inside the rooms it's clean and functional. The staff was very friendly and breakfast with direct castle-view was great.

Room Tip: Try to get a room near the elevator or in the center of the building. The corridors are so long that you might have to walk a long distance through several doors to reach the rooms at both ends of the building.

Gaestehaus am Schloßpark is a rebuild hospital which is reflected in the rather high doors and ceilings. In general single rooms are rather small but have everything you may need. Large flat TV screen, good stowage, shower with hairdryer. There are a lot of roomy doublerooms as well, some of them having a small kitchen with fridge.
There is fast WLAN throughout the hotel on all flors for just two euros per day. If you stay longer you might ask for a discount on that.
24 hour desk helps you through almost anything. There is a small bar in the lobby serving drinks and a little menu also.
From 07:00 to 10:00 you may enjoy your breakfast.
All personal is very friendly and helpful without exception.

In total: For the money you pay there you might expect less but get a lot. I love it!
The hotel and all rooms are kept absolutely clean.

Should you miss gym or a swim: See "OASE" nearby offering large pools (incl. outdoor) sportbath, very large sauna-area. Swimming + sauna = € 10,- per two hours. Each additional hour just € 2,-.
