"Liebevoll! in der Auermuhle" was an old mill by a stream converted into a restaurant, and it offers diners a spacious terrace for al fresco dining in warm months. The lovely, natural surroundings add to the charm of the place, and it is very popular with families with young kids as there is a large playground and a beach volleyball pitch on the premises.

The restaurant is open daily from 1000-0100 hours. The food served here is local cuisine with an international flair. The self-sufficient kitchen / F&B team also bakes all the cakes, roasts coffee beans, makes pasta and pizza from scratch, grills meats in an 800-degree oven and whips up colorful cocktails.

Parking spaces are limited on the premises so visitors have to park haphazardly all along the narrow and unpaved path leading to the restaurant. Certain sections of the path are so narrow that only one car can pass each time. The situation is particularly bad on nice and sunny weekends, when the crowd converges on the place and the backlog of cars spills onto the narrow 900-meter stretch leading out to the neighboring suburbs. The management needs to come up with a solution for parking for its guests - there is no access to public transport here, and I can imagine the residents living nearby are not happy with the amount of traffic passing through to get to the restaurant.

Nice restaurant with good food and relaxed atmosphere - unless you go on the weekend. We've been there during midweek and it wasn't so noisy and crowded. Great place with kind staff and efficient service, excellent for a sunny day! Highly recommended if you're happen to be in the area as long as you have a car because this place is unreasonable by PT!

A couple of weeks ago I cycled passed it during a weekend exercise, decided to interupt for a draught JEVER, did the trick for me that day... and I still had a couple of miles to get home.
The place is enchanted, so I wanted to return on romantic terms...and so I did.
That's when eveything fell into place:
Staff super sweet.
Boulabaisse for late lunch...
Walking the enchanted forrested creek valley deeply cut into the limestone reef.
Moved into the magically crafted guest rooms behind the mill... the vast shower made from local river rocks!
... handlayed wooden floors; the four-poster-bed...
by now we are purring considering this detailed romantic setting.
On we went to get us a rowing boat on the Ruhr river in Kettwig (brisk 15inuted drive)
20h30 back for an asparagus combo... omg!
The Kaiserstuhl Burgunder to go with it...
Night fell and the firefies come out to leadus back to our guest room...
... a quiet and restfull romantic night...
before at 7nish we get up to birds songs, decide to walk the valley again.
back just before staring the brunch buffet loaded with German typical and international delicatessen.
We couldnt be more delighted.
You need proof?! Well, we decided to acquire the bed and one of the pictures on the wall...
The shower was not for sale ;-)

A gem of a place:
Hotel rooms romantic, restaurant tasteful and delicious, beergarden rustic and a fine selection of brews on tab.
Bring your friends and hike or bike the forrests.
I am one loyal new fan; keep it up!

You are in the middle of forest and yet 15 minutes away from Dusseldorf airport. Excellent setting, modern deco in an old mill, the menu is surprising, international and the staff knows how to please you (I asked for strawberries with whipped cream, which was not on the menu).
I had a curry, Laos-style, which is one of the best I have had in Europe. The quantities were just right and the local beer, fresh and delicious.
