Like walking into a fairytale this place is the best. Loved the buildings, the surrounds, the vibe it gave. Spend time in this marvellous little town and you will not be disappointed. We loved it.

The town of Berncastle-Kues is a wonderful old city, with no cars and many old buildings. It is well worth visiting, but not worth it if you are going to the Christmas Market. I have been in the city before in the summer and loved it, so thought it would be a perfect place for a visit to the Christmas Market. There are very few booths and most of them sell food. Not much selection if you are looking for Christmas decor. If you go, plan your trip for another time.

A very nice place to visit, where you get a feel of what the life was around the 16th century!
There's a lot of preserved houses.
From the Markplatz you can walk uphill to the ruins of and very old castle. The way to castle goes by grapevine, and from the top of the hill you have a fantastic view of the Mosel valley!

We went with a tour group, lovely, little medieval town. Cobblestone streets, houses dating to the 15th century, wonderful medieval marketsquare. Can't get lost, lots of souvenir shops, eateries, bakeries, good Riesling wine. Very picturesque.

So many lovely shops, restaurants and weinguts to explore. We had a wonderful time here on our visit and discovered new things each day. Be sure to stop for a glass of wine or cup of tea on one of the patios!
