Cochem abounds with restaurants but during a three day stay there this was the far the best one which we experienced.

It is unashamedly up-market with well-spaced tables in a room that has great presence and good taste. The staff are professional and friendly and the 25 euro three course set menu is good value for excellently presented and well cooked food.. We were less pleased to be charged 7 euro each for two bottles of water. But if we were in Cochem again this is the first restaurant we would head for. However check beforehand that they are open - when we were there it was closed on Thursday and Friday night.

Cochem is full of restaurants offering the standard fare of 'pork and potatoes.' The Lohspeicher is a cut well above the average and I suspect it is the best restaurant in Cochem and probably for many miles around. A combination of innovative food, personal attentive service, very modest prices and contemporary yet traditional furnishings make this the restaurant of choice if you would like good food.

Since this a hotel review I will start there. We had travel delays, that pushed back our arrival, Ingo waited for us and immediately made us feel welcome. Very clean, modern in an old building. On a quiet side street which is important since there is no ac. Not that it was needed when we were there. Staff was helpful with sightseeing advice. Breakfast included was very good, big selection and top notch. Dinner was outstanding, top 5 best meals of my life. But that is a different review

We had a fantastic experience staying at this hotel. After arriving minutes before closing, Ingo Beth, the hotel manager and Chef, treated us to an amazing dinner worthy of a Top Chef competition. Later, we found that he is featured on German television once a month, and is well known regionally... who'd a known? And, because we' couldn't get enough, we went back again the next night for an even better dinner.

The room was very clean with a modern, immaculate, bathroom, comfortable bed, and attention to detail.

Overall, we had an amazing visit, and would recommend this to anyone.

We had a perfect dinner at this place. Friendly staff and great chef! Very very good meals and wines! Quiet, stilish and nice girls serving. Nice location in the city centre, in a small quiet side-alley.

This is our 4th visit to Lohspeicher .
The staff have hardly changed over the last 6 years.
I am a vegetarian with lots of likes and dislikes - We ate in the restaurant for 4 nights (it closes on a Wednesday) & each night the whole food experience was different .(my meals were not on the menu)
My husband is not a vegetarian and he loved every morsel of his venison ,beef, pork etc.
The bedrooms are small but as we were there to have Ingo's hospitality & walk in the surrounding vinyards to ensure we both had a good appetite this did not pose a problem.

We stayed at the Hotel Lohspeicher for 3 days and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Ingo, the owner and chef was delightful and spent time talking to us when it was obviously a busy time for him. He treated us like a family member. We ate dinner there Monday and Tuesday and if the restaurant was open on Wednesday we would have eaten there again! The food is spectacular and the atmosphere lovely. Our room was clean and comfortable! I highly recommend staying at the Lohspeicher and eating at the Restaurant L'Auberge Du Vin!
