My family and I stayed here and found this to be a fantastic place. Our family room had two large bedrooms and a kitchen/living room combination. It is just a short walk from the main shopping area of Cochem and the private car park was a great addition. Steps only to reach the family room we rented, but typical for family-run establishments such as this. The apartment was clean and comfortable and plenty big enough for a family of four.

Very good value for Cochem and only a 2 min walk to the chair lift and the main town, we had a big recently updated room that looked the rear out over a gravel car park were the bike was parked so this didnt bother us as we could keep an eye on it. The young girl who i assume is the daughter of the owners spoke excellent English and nothing was any trouble, breakfast was good and plentiful, great shower and a comfy bed, couldnt ask for more thanks

Free parking, no frills management, cheap, clean, comfy beds, good location, no wifi, ok free breakfast. We liked the simplicity of the place.

After a few action packed days in Paris, it was nice to unwind in Cochem. We stayed in one of the "Holiday Apartments", which was an incredible deal. By far our most affordable room in Europe, and by far the most space we had. Two Bedrooms, 1 1/2 bath (a seperate shower and tub in the full bath), and a living room/kitchen area. It was great to be able to spread out, sleep in a different room from the kids, and relax wtihout looking at all of our luggage.

The location is great, food outstanding, overall a great stay. If ever in Cochem again, this will be the first place we look to stay.

We stayed at the Weingut Rieslingstub'n in mid-June 2011. A son and his family also stayed. We had a room with a bedroom and a kitchenette (for 60 euros a night). They had two bedrooms, two baths, and a sitting room/kitchenette. Their two young children appreciated the room to move around in, it felt like home to them. The rooms were great. A friend stayed in just the standard bedroom with bath. His room was also great. These were the best rooms by far and the best price by far of our trip which included Paris and Lucerne, Switzerland. The family was very friendly and helpful, the son Robert speaks very good English, Erika speaks enough to solve your problems. Rolf was always working with the winery.
The hotel is about two blocks from the main area of town, directly up from the bridge. A block north is the lift chair to a great view point over the valley. The hotel is is an older building but the rooms are very modern. The rooms with just bed and bath include breakfast, an excellent one. You can also have the great breakfast if you are staying in a room with a kitchenette but you must let them know the day before. We did not eat here other than breakfast.
If you are looking for the Ritz, don't stay here. Our room looked out over a small gravel parking lot, an old building, and the business next door that seemed to have something to do with repairing equipment used in wine making. But then without that view we would not have seen Rolf as he rode the unique car on a rail up the steep hill to work on the vineyard. Some rooms look out over the street. There are plenty of places to staydirectly in the center of town but you pay a high price. For a two block walk you can have a great hotel for much less, plus they make their own wine.
The area where you can dine or drink their wine is itself covered over with vines and grapes. You can also dine/drink inside but the atmosphere outside is part of what you will remember long after your visit. Their wide range of wines is excellent and very well priced.
There is a "laundromat" in town, just a few blocks away. But it is actually a woman who does the laundry in her home. Her home is in an apartment directly across from the grocery store, second floor. She does not speak much English but with your handy German phrasebook you will be able to communicate. Seven euros for each machine load. I don't know if she will iron for an extra fee. We borrowed a very good iron from Erika at the hotel. Ask for directions to the grocery store (down toward town, then left to the business area), which is back off the street. The apartment is directly across from the entrance to the store.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Cochem and staying at the Weingut Rieslingstub'n was one of the reasons.

This lovelly wine growers property is right by the chairlift and close to the town centre. We booked because we had drank wine here years before and liked the style of the winetasting room, plus its location. We are booked in again this June (2007).

All the rooms are reached by a curved stairway and each is fairly old looking, the furniture is also old. The rooms are all that strange shade of brown favoured in the 60's. When was the last time you saw a varnished corkboard ceiling in a bedroom?

Having said that, everything was very clean, servicable and the beds were comfortable. We also had a vine growing around our bedroom window, with the grapes just asking to be picked.

The breakfast area was also the main bar, spacious and airy. Breakfast consisted of the normal cold meats, cheeses, eggs and breads you would expect from a German B&B establishment.

I defy anybody to get better value in Cochem for B&B.
