The hotel is clean and nice. We had a peaceful sleep. It is quite far from Cochem's zentrum but in car is very quick to get there. The staff was friendly but hard to comunicate with since its english was not so proficient. The breakfast was great, with a wide variety of hams, cheeses and the best homemade jams I've ever tried!

Great Hotel and restaurant! The hotel owner speaks very good English and was able to direct us to where we wanted to go. The restaurant served excellent meals at good prices. I had my best meal of my entire trip at this restaurant. The hotel is set in a peaceful setting. The room we had was large with three windows and very clean. You are a few kilometers from town up a rather large hill so you will need a car.

If only you could give 3.5 stars..... This hotel deserves it. Let me say at the start we had no complaints about the hotel.

Nestling in the hills just out of Cochem it's not too convenient for walking in (25 minutes down and 30 minutes up) but is very convenient for total and complete peace (5 mins up the path into the hills). Unfortunately the rooms didn't quite support this peaceful isolation. The hotel is on a main road, although a relatively quiet one, and traffic noise does creep in despite very good double glazing. Not so much that it disturbs you but it is there.

The thing is that the hotel is caught in between the middle of not being near enough the centre of Cochem so a little bit of noise is acceptable but just a bit too noisy for a peaceful isolation.

The bedrooms are basic and although clean (and beds that were very comfortable) the decor was in need of a makeover. A shame really as the bathrooms were very good.

The hotel restaurant was the opposite of the bedrooms. It was furnished and decorated very nicely and the food was just as good.

Not cheap but then the Euro against the pound is not helping. So if the bedrooms had been given a makeover then I think 4 stars but not yet.

Our stay at the hotel began poorly, with our hostess greeting us with a scowl. Her husband was, at first, pleasant enough, but he, too, became quite cold and unpleasant. Was it because we didn't eat at the hotel restaurant every night? Who knows. But, for whatever reason, my wife (a native German speaker) and I both found their behavior to be unprofessional—certainly unwelcoming. The room price was too high. I would categorically discourage anyone from book there. Cheaper, more conveniently located, and (I'm sure) more pleasant rooms may be found in Cochem proper.

Generally quiet, 3km outside Cochem. Very much liked the people and the restaurant - everything nice, clean and tidy. However, the room was rather bare - no soaps etc, one pillow each (which squashed to nothing!), kitchenette had no bin and no tea/coffee or even a kettle, TV stuck to the wall so that it was difficult to see (same wall as bedhead and no instructions on cable) and advertised wfi not available in the room. Dinner of salad, schnitzel and frites €19 not bad. Double Room €152/night - a bit expensive. Recommed with caution!
