stayed just one night with daughter and her two mancoon cats en-route from Prague back to UK.Arrived late ,tired and dishevelled - and could not have been made more welcome.Daughters room in main part of hotel was fine whilst I was allocated a room at rear of hotel which was excellent, large and clean and very quiet.
Meals were very good value and delicious, my daughter said her steak was the best shes ever had! Service by the owner was friendly and professional - and his wine recommendation (dry Moselle!) spot on.Breakfast was excellent and when I asked about a packed lunch ( for our onward journey) the owner bought a couple of paper bags and said to help ourselves from the buffet - no charge!)
An early morning bracing walk up through the woods to Winneburg castle was well worth it though some would find it challenging - the 500 metre distance turned out to be the vertical measurement!
Though on a main road out of Cochem it was quiet - if staying longer I think the only downside would be the walk down into Cochem itself - and the climb back. But this aside would recommend the hotel unhesitatinglyMore
