Rave reviews on Trip Advisor for this hotel and justifiably so – Quiet location outside the bustle of Lindau in converted farmstead complete with menagerie of goats, rabbits, ducks, geese and pony next to a babbling brook. Comfortable bedrooms and breakfast room in main building, “library” and holiday flat in barn and modern glazed link in between with reception, sunny balcony and dining area. Limited menu for evening meal but good food and local wine. Very hospitable proprietors and homely feel to this gem of a hotel. If you want a place to relax in the rolling countryside adjacent the Bodensee, look no further.

I dream of going back there! Had a wonderful holiday. Clean bedding, wonderful peaceful garden and delicious food and breakfast. Idylic. Very nice owners. Lovely farm animals. A great place for families to discover bodensee.

Sometimes a place is so good, you don't want to write a review because you want to keep it all for yourself. This hotel is one of those places. The breakfast is worth the price of the room just by itself. The room was the best one my wife and I stayed in during our 15 day travelling in and around Germany and Holland-spotless, plush pillows. Set in a countryside setting complete with farm animals cows, goats, chickens, rabbits, it is an ideal setting for anyone who just needs to get away from everything. Oh and did I mention the breakfast! You could not have better service or a better breakfast EVER! Thank you to the owners for allowing us to visit your beautiful home and for your royal treatment!

We were devastated that we only booked for the one night and had to keep travelling. This place is an absolute gem of a property. The surroundings are so picturesque, the owners delightful and the breakfast could not be compared to any other. The fresh fruit, juice and jams were the best I have EVER had.

It is a beautiful little farm not far from Lindau. I would recommend this place to absolutely anybody looking for a quiet getaway to relax and enjoy.

We booked 2 rooms for meeting some friends for a weekend getaway, not expecting much from a landhotel. How wrong could we have been: every little thing about our stay was excellent, from the food served in the restaurant (we had dinner Friday night after arriving) to the wine served in the lounge with a crackling fire place. The owner himself served us from his bar, including some home made fruit schnapps and was, despite our "overstaying" the bar opening hours very accommodating in his service.

The breakfast was excellent as well, with the personal attention from the owner's wife, with great coffee and freshly made bread together with all kinds of jams made on site.

In terms of the rooms, it was very nicely appointed, very nice and probably one of the cleanest rooms I have ever stayed in in a hotel. Waking up in the morning with some gentle fog enclosing the hotel and watching the sun burn it away to reveal beautiful rolling green hills of the countryside confirms why nights rest was so peaceful and restful.

One can easily reach Lindau from the hotel and I would highly recommend anybody to go and stay at the Martinsmuhle Landhotel.
