“Excellent restaurant”
Reviewed 28 January 2014

It's a very nice place on the 1st floor off an old building in the middle of the historical center. Very good service although they did not have a menu in english (but the lady who was there did all the translation for us). I totally recomend it for a touch of the mediviel environment of the city.

Decent selection and very good food.

The pumpkin soup was excellent, very tasty, drizzled with pumpkin oil.

“Good food, nice atmosphere”
Reviewed 13 October 2013 via mobile

This relatively small restaurant, located on the second floor of a medieval building and overlooking the charming Altstadt, is quite popular and with good reason, based on our one dinner here. The atmosphere was very pleasant, the service excellent and the food quite good. Reservations are recommended. I would certainly go back. By the way,we loved Lindau!

“Trad German Fayre”
Reviewed 6 September 2013

A stunning restaurant in the heard of Lindau's cobbled streets. Really fine service and good value. The food was superb and we say in a lovely cove overlooking the cobbled streets below. I recommend this place for a romantic meal for two as well as for a massive banquet.

“Good atmosphere”
Reviewed 8 April 2013

Weinstube Frey is hidden away upstairs on the main pedestrian street in Lindau. We were seated in the last dining room which is full of atmosphere with a lovely wooden ceiling and murals on the walls. Our waiter was very helpful and immediatlet brought us English menus as soon as we told him we didn't speak German. We told him we didn't want to rush but wanted to enjoy a drink before ordering. This was no problem and we were not pushed to have an apertif as a previous reveiwer mentioned. The house white wine was good. We enjoyed the soup and specialty schintzel with vegetables which was delicious. The apple panckakes were more like an apple fritter and were also delicious. We enjoyed several drinks, a lovely meal plus coffee and found the price quite reasonable.
