Bir is unexplored destination in Himalayas. Bir is known for paragliding but stay at camp Oak view is one of the best experience in my visit to Himachal. People at property is one of the key at place, totally helpful, informative. We did trek to Thathi village with Khadak singh a 67 year old guide much much fit then us. Food was awesome, super clean tent, super clean toilets and amazing music at the time of Bon fire. Camp team has their own paragliders headed by Mr. Arvind Paul who is among top pilots of India. Amazing experienced team. Must visit again camp Oak view with my family next time
Great location secluded within the interiors of forest and a perfect camping destination. Well maintained tents with great food ! Must visit in case you are planning to visit Bir for para gliding experience :)
Pros- 1.Good place to stay right in laps of nature.
2. Clean camps and hygienic toilets
3. Food was good.
Cons- 1. Toilets are far from camps and this is quite annoying during winter when temperature is below 0 degree.
2. There should be warm water kettle in camp. It is again very difficult to drink cold water in freezing cold
3. Bon fire arrangements were quite disappointing.
4. My booking included paragliding. But after we were done with the paragliding there were no arrangement for taxi to get back to hotel and I have to book my own taxi.
5. I would advise to include other activities in camp.
The stay was much better than I expected. The tents were clean and comfortable, the toilets and bathrooms were clean, the management and staff were exceptionally helpful, the place is well located, the trek was well-coordinated, the paragliding was great and food served at the camp was very good as well. Overall, excellent experience.
A serene & amazing place.i am in love with this place, this place is calm, peaceful. Excellent Stay at Camp Oak View, very comfortable tents and very good general facilities. Love the Food, specially Mutton Chawal also love the born-fire. A special word for Varun Sharma and Atul who was the organizers of the whole camp and was more than helpful in everything from travel to sightseeing to paragliding and also special thanks for your Mahindra Ride. will love to come again and again.
this was a short trip however we enjoyed a lot and soon will book for another and will definitely go for the trek.
Thank you Camp Oak View :)
Happy with services, camps were hygienic and I miss the peace, beauty and nature at its best. And thanks to Varun(owner #oakview) for making our trip more memorable with the bon fire and excellent food at camp site. All the best and I would recommend Oakview and #Paul Manor (for quality food and services) to all my known ones if they are traveling Bir Biling.
Finally a time for my review.. Consider myself lucky to have been to Camp Oak view twice in month of October only. Surrounding is just beautiful..oak forests..if you have booked all 5 bell tents for a group or family...its a feel of exclusive camping especially pitched for u . The way to camp is quite adventurous via jungle trail and one can not expect such level of amenities and services but when u reach there..everything so organized.
Now starting one by one - Location.. little far from the town but that hardly matters when you are getting to stay at such a perfect place, Tents... neat and clean on dbl n triple sharing with an important service..a charging point, Bonfire n Breakfast area...superb..loved that ken furniture, food... yummm..served in a very decent manner must say, washrooms...sparkling clean, music...wow..what a collection , staff.. so humble..polite..hospitable and last but not the least Varun whose managing the place...wonderful person..always a smile on his face...so welcoming..always there to help you and guide you. We went for a nature walk around the camp on his suggestion and it was a wonderful experience. Everything was perfectly managed...So all in all... Camp oak view is highly recommended..whether you are with family or friends... staying there is a value addition to your trip. Go and experience yourself...
