Each part of the itenary was meticulously planned, enjoyed thoroughly. Through and through. Cheers to Varun and his crew
Camp oak view is located in the forest, away from the hustles bustles of town.... bful location, gives perfect camping experience.....would hav given a 5 star if the staff would hav been gud, for anything they will say its a camp.
Give me a break dear, have spent years camping...
A beautiful oasis - a hidden gem in the middle of the Himalayan valley. If you are looking for an offbeat stay in Bir-Billing, then camp oakview it is. The tents are beautifully done up with all amenities and yet rustic in charm. Varun Sharma and his team are very hospitable and helpful - and made our stay truly memorable. They also helped our group with the nearby treks / paragliding etc. They are also extremely friendly in their approach and their is no business-like urgency. Very heart warming.
But keep in mind that the approach to the campsite is through a long winding dirt road - extremely adventurous ! And the last 100 steps actually have to be taken on foot uphill, with bag & baggage. So travel light, wear proper shoes & bring along a fit body and open mind. Sitting under the stars, around a bonfire outside our tents, with the cutest house dog Amazon for company - was an experience worth remembering forever.
Only grouse was that the food was not very local in flavor as we'd expected. It was a bit too rich and oily - but tasty nonetheless. The campsite is also a bit far from the main marketplace, so if you are looking to be in the hub of activity & noise, then this place is not for you.
Good place, Far from city. All the arrangements are fantastic like Bonfire, Music & food also. Friendly behavior by staff & Varun also. Very neat & clean Camp.
The tents were very comfortable, I would say more luxurious than any other tent I have stayed in my life. The staff was also very good, always available. The food was good. It is a nice play to stay if you want to be in the middle of the nature - the mountains, the greenery. We could only stay for a short duration - only during the night, and had to leave slightly early in the morning, hence felt that it turned out to be a bit expensive for us. But it was a great experience! :)
very good arrangements in the tents , food is very good , you can go trekking to surrounding mountains , enjoy the paragliding from billing which is must to have experience
The foothill camp was a good place to relax and spend a day. The food was good and the staff was very co-operative and understanding.
The bone fire organized could have been better.
