Welcoming and friendly staff. Drinks swiftly arrived. They were a bit slow to take the food order. Once food ordered it arrived in good time and was hot and tasty. I wish the chequers pub well, has it has not produced good food for a number of years.

On arrival it was good to me met with a smiley face and to receive friendly service throughout the meal. There is a very
pleasant atmosphere in this restaurant.

Chequers offers really good food, a reasonable menu choice and excellent value for money. Well worth a return visit.

Came in here with family on a Sunday afternoon for sandwiches. They were busy with a christening celebration in the restaurant but it was a sunny day so we sat out on the front patio. The sandwich choice was good and either came with chips or crisps. We waited ages for our food to come and when we asked, they checked with the kitchen and our order had blown away out of the chef's view! They quickly made our sandwiches and were very apologetic. The sandwiches and chips were yummy. We have been here a few times for a quick drink and the staff are always friendly and talkative.

We tried the chequers last night having heard some good reviews. We were seated immediatly and given ample time to choose from the menu, which had a great selection. I ordered the butternut squash, veg with polenta for my main whilst others went for the burgers. Mine was very tasty, and the others had extras added to their burgers on request. We also had a few sides but i must recommend the sweet potatoe fries - very tasty! We all had starters, mains and desserts, a few beers and bottle of white and the bill came to £30 per person, very good value. Before we left we moved tothe bar where we chattedto the new owner ... all staff were friendly and attentive, and after a debate about the chocolate brownie, we were given an extra bit to take home! We had a great night there, all tables were full, the food was very good and we will definatly be returning for another night soon!! :)
