Our stay at this hotel was the result of a last minute decision to visit Gruyeres during our trip to Switzerland. Truthfully, we would not have missed the town or hotel.
Our room, fronting onto the medieval old Main Street of Gruyeres and its happy, gurgling fountain, was spacious and clean. With the windows open at nighttime, no noises interrupted our sleep. The whole town sleeps too.
Our hostess was charming and delightfully helpful. Dinner in the hotel restaurant was an enjoyable evening of traditional Swiss fare, Swiss wine and a warm, cheerful ambience. Breakfast, included and served on the second level, was delicious.
Drinks, coffee, meals can also be enjoyed on the hotel's back patio with a view over the rolling hills of Gruyeres and up to its imposing castle.
We loved our total Swiss experience here and hope one day to return.More
