“Sunday brunch - worth every penny”
Reviewed 4 September 2013

We have been in Du Lac for Sunday brunch last Sunday and we were really impressed.
Athomsphere was perfect, guy playing on a guitar, nice setup. We had champagne as apero, then we checked the buffet, which was in a nice ballroom. Incredible choice. You can find at least 30 different types of starters. Main course is fine, cheese and dessert selection are also huge. 80 CHF is each definitely worth the price.
Very good swiss rose and red wine.
Champagne is overpriced, but what you expect in a 5-star hotel in Suisse....
Overall excellent!

“Great food and service.”

A very good restaurant which should be experienced if in the Vevey area. Reservations are recommended in season. Take a hard look at the tasting menus.

“Best in town...”
Reviewed 9 August 2013

Great food, simple variations, not snobish, not silly mix of flavours...

One disappointment : undercooked lamb when ordered well done...slow service.

“Staff well trained, food and presentation top!”
Reviewed 4 August 2013

We stayed at the hotel for 3 days and had dinner here two of the 3 nights. The only reason we left was that the hotel was hosting a wedding Saturday night so walked to another restaurant in town.

I can not say enough kind remarks about this hotel restaurant! The moment we walked up we were greeted with friendly professionalism and shown to a table overlooking the small but beautiful garden. Our drinks (champagne apero) were brought with lovely bread twists a perfect compliment.

Another reviewer commented on a waiter not speaking English and it was not a positive experience for them; we had a waiter Olivier who is French and doesn't really speak English but as my husband is fluent in French this was not a problem and he was delightful, helping our daughter who is learning french and charming knowledgeable thru out. The food both nights was perfect, tasty but not fussy with beautiful flavours and presentation.

The staff are attentive and efficient without being intrusive. They also were quick to pickup that I do not speak French, and spoke English with me and French with my family. We each had different dishes each night so were able to sample the menu fairly extensively from lamb to fish from the lake to veal and pigeon. All were divine! Live guitar accompanied the meal on both evenings which added to the sense of peace and relaxation.

We also ordered a beef tartare up to the room for our dog and it was garnished with a bit of lettuce....he seemed to enjoy it immensely.

I don't think you can you wrong with anything on the menu, go and enjoy!

“Service must be improved”
Reviewed 20 July 2013 via mobile

Food was good. Service made by hotel school students must be improved. Maitre d'hotel spent more time chatting with costumers instead of survey and correct the service. Wait more than 20min between entree and premiere plat. Waiter reserved de wine like water and without asking. Food was good, nothing expectacular but well presented and cooking was excellent. Ferra du lac (fish) was perfect cooked and without butter sauce as usually french cuisine does killing the fish flavour.
